So first you know I have to talk MY NIGGA ARMIN THO ON HIS DECENT INTO DARKNESS SHIT
I really like what Armin was thinking of when he was lying to Bertholdt..."What else do I need to give up besides my life to change everything?" Countless people and soldiers have given up their lives to the cause of the renewal of humanity before, and almost nothing has changed for 100 years. 100 years of uselessness. An entire territory. It takes something else beside life and blood to change the situation.
I think that it takes what Armin did this chapter - casting aside his own humanity and manipulating Bertholdt with lies. Armin has been friends with Bertholdt for years, but cast all the bullcrap aside to tell him how they have been subjugating Annie to "specially designed torture" - which they haven't...they can't break the crystal she's cocooned herself in.
The something that Armin realizes is that he needs to get dirty - put aside morals, friendship, and his humanity to attain his goal. The same kind of humanity that the titans have nearly wiped off the face of the planet will not regain power in the world. That's why Armin makes his choice - he'll lie his way to survival. I really want to see where this takes him though...will he actually go back inside the walls and find a way to torture Annie for real? How dark can he go?
Secondly, we have Commander Erwin on the scene. So this nigga gets his arm eaten in the assault by a titan...and what does he do? HE GOES IN LIKE A REAL NIGGA AND GIVES BERTHOLDT THAT SLICE. WITH AN ARM MISSING. Its too damn real. Levi breaks his foot, out of commission. Erwin loses an arm? 'TIS BUT A SCRATCH. HARD BODY NIGGA ON THE SCENE.
And of course we have everyone's favorite lesbian couple Ymir and Christa...what I like about this week is how Connie puts in his common sense...now that I think about it...Ymir is kind like the asshole boyfriend, except she's a girl. If she really cares about Christa she would've been fighting Reiner instead of threatening him and Bertholt into kidnapping her. Kidnapping isn't love. But then again, Ymir is still really mysterious and we don't know what she did for 60 years outside the walls or why in the hell there are titans that worship her as a god
but the real kicker this month is that MOM KILLER TITAN IS BACK. This can go 3 ways...Eren can go berserk and kill it, Mikasa can go berserk and kill it, or Hannes can redeem himself since he's on this mission. Any way would be awesome.
All in all awesome chapter. I just hope Erwin isn't out of commission after this mission...give this nigga some FMA automail!
