This is my piece for the selfship collab but feel free to read it!
Pairings: Jean Kirstein x self/reader.
Warnings: None. Just a bit of fluff and domestic vibes.
There is a slight jingle to my keys as I unlock the front door. Opening the door to let myself into the place that I shared with my boyfriend allowed for the aroma of food being cooked to hit my face as I walked in. As I closed the door behind me I shouted that I was home and followed the delicious smell to the open kitchen. Some low music plays from the kitchen as well.
Stopping at the breakfast bar separating the kitchen and living room, I set my things on the counter and stood and watched Jean for a moment. He was wearing a dark tee that had some band dates and times listed along the back, dark jeans and his golden hair pushed back to keep out of his face. His shoulders and hips move along with the music that is playing from his phone next to him on the counter, his head also nodding along. After just a second he turns over his shoulder and smiles at me.
“Welcome home, baby! How was work?” He turns away from the cooking to reach his hand to me.
“It was okay, the same old honestly. I’m just glad it’s the weekend.” I respond walking over to him and taking his hand.
Jean brings me in close, linking his arms around me as he moves us with the beats of the song, taking my hand to twirl me around and pulling me back close against in a sway. From what I could hear it was a soft rock song that he listens to often. I giggle at him mouthing the words to me as we dance around. He laughs at me as he squeezes me close, leaning down to kiss the top of my head.
“Oh, I did get that onion and peppers you forgot.” I say against his chest as he holds me close.
“Awesome! Want to chop them for me, I’m almost done.”
Jean and I finish making dinner while talking about our days and other small talk. The conversation continued as we ate the meal, faded out as we finished eating, and both retreated to the couch. Jean sat back against the couch, long legs stretched out, kicked up on the coffee table in front. No matter how many times I tell him not to, he puts his feet up there. Arms leaned back on the back of the couch, one wrapped around my huddle frame that cuddled into his side. The noise of the TV muddles in my ears as I lose focus around me. My mind is blank as I close my eyes and lean against him. Jean can be quite a night owl unlike myself.
“You know if you’re tired you can head up to bed.” Jean says looking down at me.
“Nope, I want cuddles first.” I mumble.
“That’s fine, we’ll just move up there.”
Jean says that turning the TV off and then picking me up to carry me up to our shared bedroom.
“My legs do work.” I joke.
“But my baby is soooo tired, how would you ever get up there?” He teases me and I playfully flick him.
Once we reach the bedroom Jean sets me down to my feet and we both start to strip down to get ready for bed, I slip into the bathroom to wash my face. Jean follows after me and the two of us brush our teeth together and every time we do, he bumps my elbows and always laughs about it. Afterward Jean already hops into bed as I turn on the fan that hangs over the bed.
“Come here sweet baby.” Jean says as he holds his arm out from his side of the bed.
He was laying down, head propped up on his elbow that was on his pillow. He holds on to the covers for me to crawl under them. He laughs as I hop my way to the bed and jump under the covers. I crawl close to him in the middle of the bed. Immediately he brings me close to his body. My head rests on the pillow that is under his arm, close enough that my nose is touching his chest. I can still smell small notes of his cologne from where he put it on this morning. The fan and TV noise, his smell, and his warmth almost put me to sleep, but I wanted to enjoy his company just a bit longer.
"Don't worry baby, I'll be here in the morning, get some sleep."
"I know, I just want to enjoy this moment right now," I mumble but it does end with a yawn.
Jean chuckles at me and leans his head down to kiss my forehead. "Well, don't fight sleep then."
We lay there for a few more minutes, Jean's hand goes under the covers to run up and down my thigh, stopping a few times to rest on my hip. His steady breaths and touches are starting to make me doze off against him.
"Wanna do something tomorrow?" He asks.
"Mhm." I nod my head against him.
"See, I knew it wouldn't take long. You about to sleep?" He teases me.
"'m not." I whisper, lying to the both of us.
I pick up my head, and it feels heavy, along with my eyes, really telling me how tired I am. I turn my face up to him and pucker my lips. He leans down and meets my lips. Giving me a few pecks he pulls back as I drop my head back to the pillow.
"Goodnight baby, I love you." Jean says, giving me another kiss on the hair.
"Love you." Is the last thing I say before I finally fall asleep in Jean's arms.
