I honestly never draw panels, this is literally my first time in all my years as an artist! I was inspired by Pinterest so I gave it a shot, but during the process of drawing the sketch, I was literally squealing through it, pumped from my music playlist, at how cute my OC looked!!! Then nailing Levi! Ahhh!!! 😱 Looks too good. (I’m still working on drawing hands so please be gentle)
I have their actual dialogue lines written out of what they’re thinking inside the panels, and what time during their arc this scene might take place— want to see the short script next?
(Fanart Artwork/Wip is mine. Can repost, please give credit.)
Using a flashback to introduce an Oc...? Don't mind if I do.
A section from my current AOT wip. I'm trying to keep it vague but still interesting... Let me know what you think of it. <3

SEASON 2 ATTACK ON TITAN SPOILERS AHEAD
"Ymir what are you-"
"Prowling at night, Reiner?" Her head turned towards him with a casual ease. The light from her candle accentuated her cheekbones in a way that was rather eerie. Her voice was smooth as she continued with her next jab, "came to see me, did you? Don't take this the wrong way but I was under the impression that you weren't into girls."
She didn't move though. Merely sat on the cool stone floor and looked up at him. Ymir's always been the type to tease. It never meant anything, did it?
"They never mean anything."
A voice echoed somewhere deep in his mind. Images of a young boy, sitting next to him on the grass flashed behind his eyes. They were blurry. All he could remember was brown tuffs of hair, maybe some freckles. But even then... perhaps he was confusing him with someone else.
"What do you mean?" Reiner looked up at the boy, away from the blade in his hand. He shoved the sharpening stone into his pocket.
"Magath - and the other cadets of course." The boy still hadn't taken his blade from the sheath strapped to his pants. "They just say and do whatever they can to turn us into loyal ants. Following row by row."
Reiner watches as he picked blades of grass, tying and braiding them together. "It's an honour to become an honorary Marleyan. It's the highest status we can achieve, it's something to be proud of. If I were you I'd watch what I say."
"Yeah, well..." The boy turned his head up to look towards the stars. They were brighter than Reiner's ever seen them. Not that he'd ever gone stargazing before. "I'd rather be able to think for myself. That's all. I don't care if I fight in their wars or clean their toilets. I just want to have the freedom to think for myself."
Not into girls, huh? Reiner couldn't be too sure of that. Then again, he couldn't be too sure of anything. Nothing was anything long enough to get used to. Every day was different from the last.
Reiner crossed his arms across his chest. Suddenly thinking about Christa. The kind, beautiful angel of a woman. Ymir practically sewed herself to the girl's side.
"Really? Well, it doesn't seem like you have any interest in guys either." Reiner's face stayed cold, aside from the slight smirk that graced his lips.
He didn't think she was the type to think about romance on their off time.
Ymir chuckled. "Yeah, figures." Her hand dipped back into the crate. "If you must know, I'm scavenging for leftovers like a street urchin. There has to be something here for us to eat, and I'd prefer not to meet my maker on an empty stomach."
Reiner sighed and turned back to the door, making sure it was actually closed. "Ymir, did you say all that stuff to Connie to get his mind off of things? It would be great if you could keep that up. The less he dwells on his family, the better."
"What are you talking about?" By her tone, this was less of a question and more of a way to get him to leave her alone. But then, she found something. A can of something. "Huh, this might be good." She brings the label up close to read it. "Herring's not my favourite, but whatever."
"Yeah? Let me see." He stepped forward, taking it as she stiffly handed it to him. "Can't believe you actually found canned food here - huh-?"
The label was in a whole other language. From what Reiner knew, there was nowhere in Paradis that spoke in a different tongue. Hell, there was barely a dialect difference between the Walls.
"How can you read this, Ymir? You're not fro-"
Once again, her eyes met his. This time however, there was no ease, no confidence. Just a glaring dagger stare that had him in a choke-hold of silence.
Tagged by @roguelioness and @askweisswolf (ps I was about to tag you and saw you tagged me) thank you so much ily!
I'm sharing a bit of the next chapter of my AoT fanfic today, because that fic lives in my brain 24/7 now
While Erwin and Levi do feature in this chapter, I wanted to share a snippet of character and world development that's included (and unedited because I have zero capacity to do that today) as Lozen returns home from her murder trial for the first time since the MPs arrested her.
The noise of water running was muffled, but Auntie Rita's voice rang clear like a beacon, keeping Lozen from slipping further and further into her mind.
"You are Lozen Daniella Pierce- born to Chief Emmanuel Daniel Pierce and Elizabeth Marie Locken. You are my only niece," Rita recited the facts, a tether to the shore of the present, as she helped Lozen remove the scratchy prison clothes. "You come from a long line of strong men and women- fighters and healers, fire keepers and story tellers."
Old bandages were peeled away from grimy skin still caked in dirt, falling as dirty puddles on the pristine marble floor. "You are a relative of the first Circle of this land, given to our ancestors as a gift for assisting in the Titan war, where both our people and theirs fought side by side nearly to the brink of extinction and nonetheless persisted."
Lozen let Rita support her weight as she put one foot into hot water, the temperature numb but radiating with each word from Rita. The next foot followed and Lozen soon watched her own body lower itself into the soapy water, feeling as though she was merely observing a scene over which she had no control over or feeling.
"And while we may not be royalty, we are survivors- stubborn, resilient, fierce." Slowly, warmth broke through the fog of Lozen's mind, shifting to heat as the scent of lemongrass and mint flooded her senses.
"We have been, we are, and we will continue to be keepers of our legacy, stewards of the land, and protectors of our culture." Gently, Rita helped her lean back into the water, a stabilizing hand to help pull Lozen back to the surface, lending stability where there was none.
Nimble fingers massaged her scalp, firm and dexterous from decades of beading intricate designs onto hides and working the land, working out the dirt, dried blood, and grease that clung on to the roots. And as its grip washed away, Lozen came back into her body.

Part 2
~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~
Pitch black engulfed Utgard Castle as the moon dipped between the clouds. Inside, the scout team took shelter from the titans roaming outside. The group of newbies, led by three of their superiors, lingered idly in the foyer. Connie Springer, a shaven haired boy with a mind half as bright as his closed yellow eyes, lay sleeping soundly on a blanket. Christa Lenz and Bertolt Hoover sat with their backs to the wall. With his head hanging to rest in his arms, the raven-haired boy almost met her height.
Christa, however, had her head up. Her gaze sleepily scanned the room. But each time she did so, she found herself returning to Ymir's shadowed figure. Half-hidden by a closet door, she sat hunched over a crate of old supplies. While Christa didn't know what her friend was digging for, she couldn't help but admire the way her brown hair framed her face. The sight was the last thing she saw before sleep overcame her.
Nanaba, Henning, and Lynne were in charge of leading their group of scouts to look for a breach in Wall Rose. During their journey they were ambushed by a fairly large group of titans, in addition to one they had never seen before. It was larger than any titan seen before, with exception to the colossal, and covered with fur.
It looked almost like a humanoid monkey of sorts. A beast. With a deadly tendency to throw rocks at its target.
Lastly, there was Reiner Braun. A blonde boy who couldn't bring himself to sit still after all they had encountered. They had been sitting around for about an hour since taking shelter and the situation was getting to him. As a soldier he understood that resting whenever possible was important, but the warrior spirit in him couldn't quite settle.
Especially after the conversation Ymir and Connie had earlier.
"My village was totally destroyed. It was crushed to timber and rubble." Connie's voice was small as he stared into the fire that blazed, keeping them warm.
Ymir nodded solemnly, "I'm sorry."
"Nobody got devoured though." Connie cut in quickly. "There was not a speck of blood to be found. It looked like they all got out. So I guess there's a silver lining at least."
The pieces didn't fit. They had found horses still in their stalls. And even if they weren't, even if there was a sign of an evacuation there's no way a village full of civilians made it out safely. Ymir's eyes snapped to Connie's, "but you said it -"
"Still though," he continued with furrowed brows, "there was a titan on top of our house. Its arms and legs looked too small to move. It just laid there, staring at me. And God I just - it's... it almost reminded me of my mom. Am I crazy or..."
Silence overtook the room for a split second before Reiner spoke, "Connie, what have I told you? It was your imagination -"
"Are you for real?! Hah!" Ymir interrupted with an overly loud laugh. "You really think your mom could be a titan?! Wow. Honey, sorry to break it to you but -" she snorts, "with as itty-bitty as you are puh-lease! We all knew you were dumber than a bag of rocks but holy shit. This takes it to a whole other level."
Connie ran a hand over his head, embarrassed. "Okay, yeah. Have your fun. I guess it was stupid of me."
"Oh no, don't stop there! If mommy dearest is a titan then your dad must be one too! Basic biology. I mean how else would they have -"
"Okay! I get it!! Shut up and go to sleep!"
It was odd. Her reaction to his 'crazy idea' was a little too over-the-top. Their back and forth only made Reiner's suspicion of Ymir grow. There was nothing more he could do aside from asking her outright.
The door to the closet creaked as he stepped inside, standing over Ymir. It was a fairly spacious room, all things considered. Reiner let the door close behind him.
"Ymir what are you -"
"Prowling at night, Reiner?" Her head turned towards him with a casual ease.

"Magath - and the other cadets of course." The boy still hadn't taken his blade from the sheath strapped to his pants. "They just say and do whatever they can to turn us into loyal ants. Following row by row."
Reiner watched as the familiar boy picked at blades of grass, tying and braiding them together. A weird feeling washed through him, brow furrowing at the nonchalant comment. "It's an honour to become a Warrior of Marley. It's the highest status we can achieve as Eldians, it's something to be proud of.
All I want is to have the freedom to think for myself."
A lump formed in Reiner's throat as he stared in silence. If someone heard their conversation they could get in trouble. They'd be kicked from the training unit... what would his mother think?
"They say things to scare us, I know that. But we're also their prized possessions. Those guys just say things to toughen us up - get us ready for 'the real world.'" With a light chuckle he continued, now looking directly at Reiner. "I'm not getting picked to be a Warrior, I know that. But when you leave... promise you won't forget me?"
Not into girls, huh? Reiner couldn't be too sure of that. Then again, he couldn't be too sure of anything. Nothing was anything long enough to get used to. Every day was different from the last.
Plus... there was something plaguing his mind. Like there was something he was forgetting back home.

The label was in a whole other language. From what Reiner knew, there was nowhere in Paradis that spoke in a different tongue. Hell, there was barely a dialect difference between the Walls.
"How can you read this, Ymir? You're not fro -"
Once again, her eyes met his. This time however, there was no ease, no confidence. Just a glaring dagger stare that had him in a choke-hold of silence.
Suddenly everything was changing yet again. A fourth infiltrator. Someone else in addition to himself, Bertolt, and Annie. Someone who had an entirely unknown objective. Someone who posted a threat to their whole plan.
He had to keep an eye on her.
"Everyone, wake up!!" A voice echoed through the foyer where the team rested. "Get to the tower, quick!" Reiner and Ymir jumped into action, forced to move past the chilling moment they had shared.
Clamouring up the stairs, he listened to Connie question the situation only for Lynne to stay silent.
"Gotta be fricking kidding me." Henning muttered as the groups reached the top. Over the edge of the tower was a sea of titans. For now they seemed like regular, pure titans. But it is always to be assumed that there may be an abnormal amongst the bunch.
Titans of all sizes surrounded Utgard Castle. The largest, Reiner approximated, was fifteen feet tall with the shortest being around five. Henning paced along the edge of the battlement, continuing to speak his irritations out loud. Almost like he was shaming the titans like they were children. "I'd be drinking right now if it wasn't for you! This is all your fault!"
If they weren't bloodthirsty killers, the sight could have almost been funny.
Quickly, the commanding officers jumped into action. With their ODM gear engaged they catapulted into attacking the titans below. Chopping fingers, cutting down their heels, and slicing the nape of the creatures neck.
Reiner watched helplessly from the roof alongside his comrades as Nanaba exchanged words with Henning. He had used his blades recklessly. They had to be selfish with their gas and blades as it's all they had left.
"Shit. We're so screwed." Connie muttered under his breath as Reiner crossed the group to stand with Bertoldt near the back. "Without our ODM gear we're stuck up here completely defenceless. We have nothing to fight back with."
Bertoldt nudged his friend's arm. The two boys shared a knowing look.
It was the beast titan, he's the one in charge of this whole operation. He ordered this rampage of titans to come to the tower. The only questions Reiner had, was why. In doing so the Beast would effectively kill both him and Bertoldt.
Unless he wanted them to transform. Blowing their cover.
'Zeke, what the hell is your plan?'
"They've broken through the door!" Lynne shouted, grappling up the side of the tower to stand on the edge. Her eyes met each of the scouts as she spoke with urgency. "Get down and form some sort of barricade. If you can't stop them, come back up here as a last resort. The high ground is all we have left as leverage."
The team of new scout soldiers was frozen in place. Mesmerised by her seemingly calm demeanour as she acknowledged the situation at hand. Or, perhaps, they were merely frozen in fear.
"That doesn't mean that we'll be able to help you, though." She took a second to look below. To watch her comrades fight below her, without her. The people she's known and looked up to since cadet training. "I'm not sure we'll still be alive to help any more than we already are. It's our job to fight as we were trained. To give our lives for humanity." There was no evidence of fear in her voice, or her facial expression. Only the slightest crook in her eyebrow that shook as she spoke.
"Now, go!" Faster than Reiner could blink, the group was running down the stairs. Getting right to the action. Grabbing a torch from the wall he ordered the rest of the team to grab supplies. Anything and everything they could carry. During their search he would look for the breach and see exactly what they were up against.
Lynne was right. The wooden door working as the entrance to Utgard Castle was smashed to splinters. A titan's face could be seen through the gaping hole.
"Hey, Reiner!"
"Reiner, stop it damn it!" Christa and Bertoldt ran forward and called out to him in an attempt to pull him from his tunnel visioned state.
Connie, in shock shouted to Bertoldt, "who does he think he is? Always taking the most dangerous job?"
With a sigh, Bertoldt responds, "yeah, it's a bad habit of his."
"THEY'RE HERE! BRING SOMETHING QUICK!" Reiner hollered up to them. The terror was evident. The titan lunged through the opening, trying to grab the boy with one hand.
'Is this it? Will this be it?' Reiner's heart seemed to roll up from his chest and into his throat. Beating furiously, successfully gagging him with fear.
A large hand swept down from the air. Aiming right for the twelve year old blond. But he couldn't move, couldn't say anything.
Suddenly he was pushed to the ground.
Marcel.
Reiner stared up at the monster holding his warrior companion. Helpless to do anything as the titan's mouth opened with strings of saliva dripping from its teeth.
Blood exploded down the chin of the titan. Thick and oozing. The blood of his teammate. The sight was sickening.
'No... it can't be. I won't let it happen!"
Reiner ducked down and rolled away from the monster behind him.
"REINER!" Bertoldt stood behind him, gripping a pitchfork he had found against a wall. The boy swung with all his might, landing a hit to the titan's face. Right in the eyes. The titan grunted as Bertoldt pushed harder, digging the metal spears deeper. And with help from Reiner, they soon lodged deeper.
Both boys were now working together to hold off the titan. Through staggered breaths Reiner's eyes furrowed, catching Bertoldt's glance.
"Reiner, are you okay?"
"Yeah." With one more push the titan's feet slid backwards across the floor. "We will get back home. We're gonna survive this."
Bertoldt's eyes widened for a second. "Yes. Right." Growing up the two weren't close. Not really. They had some things in common, but nothing to really stick them together. Until this mission. It almost made Reiner thankful for his homeland, for his commanders. They were going to make it to the end, together.
"Reiner! Bertoldt! Move to the side!!" Ymir shouted down from the top of the staircase. Her, Connie and Christa stood supporting a heavyweight cannon. The kind that sat on wheels that the garrison unit used atop the wall.
"You have powder? A cannonball?"
"Nope! Get out of the way!" And with a kick from Christa and Connie, the whole thing rolled down the stairs. Clamouring its way towards the blinded titan.
Bullseye.
The dust cleared, revealing the titan that lay out of commission amongst the splintered wood and canon barrel.
"I have this knife - should I cut its nape with it?" Connie asks, holding a knife at the ready.
"If you do that and it grabs you, you're dead." Reiner responds.
Christa beckons the boys up the stairs. "We'd better retreat upstairs. This mess is right in the doorway. It should serve as a decent blockade. Plus, there may be more than one that got inside. This isn't the only entrance."
Through the doorway, a smaller titan, about three feet tall, pushed its way through the barrier piled on the floor.
"CONNIE!" Christa screamed out. But before he could even turn around, there was Reiner. Forcefully shoving the titan away with the palm of his hand and throwing Connie behind him. As the titan roared out, reaching forwards to find it's next meal Reiner grabbed it from under the legs. Soon the Titan was slung over his shoulders and being trudged up the stairs.
The succession of movements was almost too fast for Connie to even comprehend. Reiner saved him almost effortlessly. But wait -
His arm was lodged in its mouth. Reiner thumped up the stairs of the castle with one arm wrapped between its legs as the titan gnawed at the flesh of his limb.
"H-Hey, Reiner... Don't tell me you -"
"The window -" Reiner grunts under the weight of the titan.
"You're jumping with that thing?!" Connie springs to his feet, meeting Reiner at the window, right before he flings himself off.
"I've got no other choice -"
"Wait!" Grabbing the knife he had earlier. "Hold on, let me at least try -" Blood spurts from the titan's jaw as Connie plunges the knife into its face. Successfully slicing the jaw so it hinges open, freeing the limb.
With a stumble backwards, Reiner retreated from the titan. Ymir took the moment to kick the thing off the windowsill, tumbling to the ground below. Suddenly, there was silence. No words, just exasperated breaths filled with gratitude for the temporary relief.
The air felt heavy as the team moved their way back up to the second floor. As Christa dressed Reiner's wounds - fashioning a bandage from the fabric of her skirt - Bertoldt, Connie, and Ymir braced the door with wooden beams. Sticking them perpendicular against the door to prevent another titan attack.
"All I've got is this." Christa mumbled as she wrapped the cloth around his forearm. "It's not as clean as it probably should be though..."
"No." Reiner interjects. "It helps."
There was something about being cared for that struck a chord in him. His face hardened, not wishing to give away how much this simple gesture truly meant.
'A true lady of value... gotta marry her one day."
Connie scratched the back of his head. Shame radiated from him as he spoke solemnly. "I'm so sorry about that. It seems like you're always saving my ass. Hell, even Annie... she risked her life to save me too. I swear, I am gonna pay you back sometime."
Light from Bertoldt's torch flickered, painting their shadows against the stone. "Not really... it's the normal thing to do." Reiner's voice was as stoic as his stance beside Christa as she finished tending to his wound.
"We're soldiers. It's the normal thing to do." Didn't someone save him like that a while back? A distant memory sat on the tip of his tongue. One he dared not speak of.
But who the hell was it? Was it during Cadet training?
"Not so sure about that" An awkward laugh escaped Connie. "I doubt I'll ever be as brave as you." When the comment elicited no response he turned away from Reiner, "hey, Bertoldt. Has Reiner always been like this?"
"No." Bertoldt spoke slowly. His gaze glued to Reiner. "In the past I... I would describe him as more of a warrior.... Unlike now." Reiner looked up and they met eyes yet again. But it wasn't like before with the titan, when they had a sense of mutual agreement. Bertoldt's message was lost to the wind.
Nothing clicked.
"What's that supposed to mean? What do you mean by warrior?"
Ymir, clearing her throat walked away from the group, looking out of the window and towards the mounds of decaying titan carcasses that laid below. "Let's look for more materials before we get back up there. That way we can die without too many regrets. No one can say we haven't tried."
A blood curdling scream is heard in the distance. It was Lynne's. Then, silence. The sound was cut off in a way that only meant she was bitten.
They run up the stairs to the top of the tower, just as a shower of rocks rain down on them. Reiner watched as one hit Henning, his limp body falling into the grasp of the titan's waiting hands.
"Father - please!" It was Nanaba. The last of their superiors... stuck in the hands of a titan. As she was brought up to it's lips she screamed out in horror. "Wait! I'll be good, I promise I won't do it again! Father plea -"
Blood. More blood.
"The tower's about to crumble." Ymir stated, a hand placed on Christa's shoulder.
"Th-they're all... dying in our place." Christa's chest heaved, eyes wide as another scream echoed through the valley.
But it wasn't a human scream. It was from the Beast titan.
"Damn it!" Connie sobs "Do we need to wait here until the tower falls and we get eaten alive?" His eyes snap to Ymir's before looking back out to the field where more Titans ran to them from the horizon. "Is there nothing we can do about any of it? We'll be wiped out before we even finish our mission."
Christa, Ymir and Connie continued their conversation. As they attempted to rationalize the situation, Bertoldt spoke in Reiner's ear. Quiet enough that they wouldn't be heard.
"What the hell is he doing? Doesn't he know we're here?"
Reiner bit the inside of his cheek as his mind roared. Ymir was pissed. He didn't know why. He only heard snippets of their conversation "They didn't die so you'd have an excuse to get yourself killed!"
Bertoldt continued. "If it comes down to it we need a backup plan. We transform, kill them, and run. Zeke might -"
"Zeke will watch where we go and follow us. I'm not worried about that." Reiner spits. "But if we don't reclaim the Founding, we've failed. We -"
"Connie. Give me your knife." Ymir cut through their conversation. The two boys fell silent as they watched Connie hand it over. "Thanks."
With a pat to his head she turned to Christa. "What do you even want it for?" He asked, batting her hand away.
The inhale Ymir took was slow. "Well, you see... I'm going to fight with this." She wasn't scared. Not in the usual sense. Her eyes were wide and wild. Like she was ready and had a plan of sorts.
"Ymir, what are you planning?" Reiner took a step forward, grabbing her arm with his good hand.
"Who knows. I don't even know myself."
Bullshit.
That comment alone was enough of a clue for him to catch. He pulled Bertoldt aside and away from the group as the brunette spoke with Christa. The sun began to glow as it rose from the earth just as Reiner felt Bertoldt grip his arm.
"W-wait... are you telling me -"
In response, Reiner nods. "She's a -"
"Ymir, wait!!" Before he can finish, Christa shrieks as her best friend jumps from the tower. The knife pressed deep into the palm of her hand and as she fell the blood flew into the sky. Bright light crackles around her, encircling her to create streaks of lightning.
A sight Reiner knew all too well. The lightning of a titan transformation.
