This is a Levi-centric blog, so I’m starting this the only way I know how: talking about sassy Captain Levi’s personality finally back:
Ah, my heart. Happy to see him contributing again. Still sharp too, first to notice Eren in paths. One-eyed and on his game. Mmm.
Be still my heart. I love this man. He does the bare minimum and I *swoon*. It has been so long since Levi was an active character, and my heart will forever belong to him.
Ok, for regular chap talk: the comradery is wholesome, despite the horribly bleak situation our characters are in. All are sharing common ground; the heavy weight of their sins & the desire to stop Eren and save what’s left of humanity.
They all, at varying levels, hate themselves for what they’ve done. That is what is driving them through their grief to power through on their mission.
There’s lots of other things to talk about, like the discussion Annie had & the airships, but if I’m being honest.... I wanna talk more Levi. Specifically this panel:
He sit. Why?? Is his physical state still far too battered to stand for long? He was still struggling last chapter. If so, how can he fight? Or is it the emotional weight of the situation, realizing more (preventable) death is inevitable? Both? Neither?
And finally, for all the people set on saying all Levi’s character stands for is killing Zeke to avenge Erwin.... hopefully that stops. It’s clear that while he still has a rightful vendetta against him, it’s not fueled solely by revenge. He is thinking logically, and as far as their knowledge goes, the rumbling was likely somehow activated by Zeke. His character is not that bland and one-note. None are.
While still reeling from last chapter’s “Later, Hange” and the emotional toll it took on me (my heart is too invested in this series), taking this semi light-heartedly and spewing this all about Levi is cathartic and hopefully at least one of you enjoyed reading this simpy post too.
