Finally posting the Merthur piece I’ve been working on for the past month! I’ve been deranged about BBC’s Merlin and merthur for almost a decade now since seeing the show for the first time someone please free me from this prison 🙂↕️
This piece is for my AP Art Portfolio and it’s inspired by Frank Dicksee’s painting ‘La Belle Dame sans Merci’. In this piece I was exploring human themes of love, devotion, loyalty, and destiny as portrayed in fiction, as well as how works of fiction and art can be immortalized in history and culture (pertaining to Arthurian legend). I would honestly need an essay instead of a caption to talk about the entirety of my concept and thoughts regarding this piece, as well as my sustained investigation as a whole, but I’ll leave it at this for this post lol
