When he’d left the town, he hadn’t pictured himself stepping foot in it once more. Though he’d had no choice. When Olivia called him in tears, explaining that her husband wasn’t actually deceased and instead was living in said town, he knew he had to show up. To be there for Olivia and Ben, while they were trying to work out what their new normal was. He also wanted to be there to remind his sister that loving Grant, didn’t automatically mean she had to forgive him for putting her through hell for years. Knowing good intentions didn’t mean you were instantly forgiven is what lead to him to where he was standing. In front of Alice’s door – the woman he’d left behind because he thought he was doing the right thing. Or, at least because he thought he was doing what would let shine the way she should have been able to. The woman that he’d never truly gotten over, the one he owed an explanation to for why he was back in town – so they could avoid some awkward meeting in public. Knocking the door, he took a step back – wondering if he should have called before showing up on her doorstep, but it was too late for that now. A small smile tugged at the side of his mouth as he saw her. “Hi Alice.” @pastawrites
