8 weeks of cutting at a .5% calorie deficit. I may have only lost 3 total pounds but I gained muscle and increased strength while doing so. The beginning stages of body recomposition are very nice to the newbie. As the years go on I won't be able to do both and my body will also learn how to recomp better. Don't always rely on the scale as the majority of my change came down to measurement changes in 9 different areas and in increased strength measurements. Understanding how to properly measure your nutrition and train with specific goals is what is most important and how to adhere to a lifestyle that's better suits you! #FitDadLife #AParent-Life #AParentLife #CuttingSeason #NewbieGainz #AllKindsOfGainz
Don't get caught up in the hype of new fad diets, you want to eat according to your goals. Whether that goal is to be more mindful of what you eat, for satiety because of long hours in-between meals or for energy to fuel your workouts or competitions. Be mindful of what you have around you in terms of food. This articles describes how mindless our eating habits can be and how to set yourself up for success. It goes on to provide the example of coming home exhausted from work and hungry, you walk in and smell burgers and fries from your local fast food chain. You weren't thinking of burgers and fries a couple of seconds ago until you smelled them when you walked in. You are now FORCED to choose to either eat the burger or Not eat the burger. I don't know about you, but I would be delighted to eat the burger. imagine the opposite scenario where you walk into your home and you know you have some pre-cut veggies, some ground turkey and your significant other was cooking up some pasta. That burger doesn't even come close to what you're mouth is watering for now, nor was it even a thought in your head. Keeping these variety of food options available, several fruits/veggies, several protein sources (chicken, ground Turkey, Fish, Tofu, Quinoa, etc) and ready to be cooked because they were pre-prepared are great ways to make it easy on yourself. Finally got that 365 #Didlift chasing that 405 club now. First week of the cut is marked off and I'm still making small gains.
