Man the show got so weird about friendship as it went on. Like imagine just some outsider creatures coming in conact with Equestria, and Twi starts doing her usual friendship spiel, and they go like "I'm sorry, are you trying to explain basic empathy and social comprehension to us?" Hell, imagine her trying to preach the pony ways of friendship to someone like the human Flash, and him going like "Okay, I know humans did a lot of fucked up shit, but this is extremly condescending"
every foreign interaction with ponies boils down to them explaining "Money can be exchanged for goods and services" levels of nuance to a fundamental part of the sentient being experience lmao.
the school of friendship arc upsets me for a lot of reasons, but the genuine expectations that only ponies understand friendship and that they need to educate other creatures on it and they're RIGHT to do so is... ridiculous. Making a boarding school in the middle of your empire to educate the children of other races reflects a very very real kind of colonization that happened and it's GROSS
