♡ - Accidentally Falling Asleep Together (from this list)
“Okay.” Oliver rubbed an exhausted hand over his face. “Next one.” He cleared his throat and started to read. “What warrentless search is allowed-?”
“Stop,” Connor groaned from his spot on the floor. He threw an arm over his eyes. “Can we please stop? I don’t wanna study anymore.”
“Connor-” Oliver began.
“No, Ollie,” Connor whined just a bit as he sat up and moved to join Oliver on the couch. “No more. Not tonight.”
“Okay. We can take a break.” Oliver wrapped his arms around Connor as Connor tucked into Oliver’s side. “But just a short one. You said-”
“I remember what I said,” Connor mumbled into Oliver’s stomach.
Connor remembered the Bar study schedule he’d made up last month and making Oliver promise to help him stay honest about his study habits. Connor promised himself it would only be a quick break as he closed his eyes and breathed in Oliver. Just a few minutes to recharge. “Just need five minutes, Ollie.”
“Okay. But only five minutes.” Oliver shifted so they were laid flat on the couch with Connor’s head pillowed on Oliver’s chest. “Then back to it.”
“Of course,” Connor hummed as he snuggled in closer. “Five minutes.”
The blare of Oliver’s phone alarm woke them the next morning.
While Oliver swore and reached for the phone on the coffee table, Connor smiled. “Best five minutes ever.”
I wrote another Coliver thing that was inspired by @apartment303‘s headcanon that Connor and Oliver can’t watch RENT because Connor gets too sad. Well guess what I wrote just that cause I’m a slut for Connor crying yay. Post 2X07 with RENT references. Enjoy!
“You know, when you said we were gonna watch TV and chill tonight, I didn’t think that we would, you know, actually watch TV and chill, if you know what I mean,” Connor said slyly as he wiggled deeper into the couch.
Oliver rolled his eyes as he entered the living room with a can of Coke and a glass full of ice, “Oh shut up you, people do actually watch TV and chill nowadays despite what the internet thinks. Besides, you love lazy nights like this.”
“Yeah, but…the alternative is a lot more fun,” Connor said with a wiggle of his eyebrows. Oliver playfully shoved him away and took his cushy seat on the couch next to him
“Now, what do you wanna watch? It’s your pick this time,” said Oliver cracking his soda open.
Connor gave a shrug and began to flip through the channels until something mildly grabbed his attention. A home shopping show here, a reality show there, yet another episode of Law and Order there…
His channel flipping stopped when he came across that movie, RENT. He froze where he sat, the color draining from his cheeks. He swallowed hard.
“Connor…” Oliver said softly.
Connor saw this movie two other times, once at college, and the other when he and Oliver first started dating. He didn’t think anything of it the first two times; just a movie based off a show about a bunch of poor artists living in New York. He liked the movie before, but now the very title makes him stop in his tracks.
“Connor, can you hear me?” Oliver asked a little louder.
Just his fucking luck, he turned on the movie right when the group splits up and everything goes to shit for them. Maureen and Joanne break up, Mimi and Roger have their falling out, Angel gets sick.
Very sick.
“Without you…” Mimi’s haunting voice begins to sing.
Hundreds of images flood his mind all at once as he hears the song progress and see the images of sadness and pain on the screen. He thinks of Angel, and how Collins loses him, he things of Oliver, and all those times Connor almost lost him.
“Connor, you’re scaring me. What’s the matter?”
“I…I….I…” that’s all Connor can make out before his mind takes over again. He thinks about all the times he wronged him, used him.
I don’t deserve him Connor thinks; then the image of Angel laying limp in Collins’s arms, sweaty and pale on the train, when Connor lets out a sob.
“…and I die without you.” the song continues on the TV.
Connor thinks back to the night Oliver told him his HIV diagnosis. He knows that Oliver is going to be okay, that he’s taking his medicine and he’ll live a long time, but while he’s watching Angel get sicker and sicker he can only think about the other possibility, that Oliver would be dead. And it would be because of him.
It’s always his fault.
He thinks about how it’s his fault Oliver got wrapped up in this Annalise mess. He should never have let his get this deep. He got cornered by a crazy mass murderer and he could have been kidnapped or killed.
Always his fault.
“Connor!” Oliver shouts. This finally breaks Connor out of his trance, that’s when he notices how wet his cheeks are and how hot his face his. His hands were shaking, too.
“I’m sorry, I’m sorry, I’m sorry,” Connor mumbles on the couch through ragged breaths, curling up to make himself small. Oliver places a comforting hand on his shoulder.
“It’s alright, is it the movie? Is it too sad? We can turn it off.” Oliver offers, his hand going for the remote. Connor shakes his head; leave it to Oliver to want to comfort him so quickly.
“No it’s not that…though it certainly doesn’t help,” says Connor as he runs fingers through his hair.
“Tell me what you’re thinking about. You can tell me.”
“I keep thinking about all the shit you had to go through since you met me…I think about how much you’ve been hurt, about how much I hurt you. I think back to when I cheated on you, and why I’m the reason you have HIV…and I know that you’re fine, and you’re gonna be okay, but then we saw that scene in the movie and…” Connor can’t finish that sentence, for new tears are spilling over and new lumps have formed in his throat.
“And I think about Angel, and how good he was, and how he got sick and got hurt and he didn’t deserve it. And I think about you getting hurt and how you could have been kidnapped and oh god I don’t know what I would do without you.” Connor is full out weeping; his eyes sting and he is probably making the ugliest face but he doesn’t care. He’s scared, he’s tired, he’s tired of hurting people. He blinks and he’s suddenly curled up in Oliver’s arms.
“Hey, hey, hey; it’s alright, it’s alright Connor, I’m here, I’ve got you.” Oliver doesn’t ask any other questions, doesn’t press for what Connor means. He just holds him, and gently rocks him.
“I don’t know what’s going at work or school, I don’t care as long as you’re safe. I know you get stressed and panic easily, and I know that you try to hide them, but you don’t have to. You don’t have to go through these things alone. I’ll help you with whatever you need; work, school, whatever it is. That’s what couples do they help each other.” Connor gripped the back of Oliver’s shirt tighter when he said the word couples; Connor still can’t believe it. Oliver pulls away from him to cup Connor’s cheeks in his hands.
“And you’re right, I’m not gonna let HIV stop me. I know that it’s a scary thing and when Angel dies in the movie it’s scary and incredibly sad, but I’m gonna be alright. Everything’s gonna be okay, I’m not going anywhere, Connor.”
Connor’s eyes filled with tears again and he let out a very small whimper, lowering his face so Oliver wouldn’t see it.
“Look at me…” Oliver gently lifted it and Connor was met with warm brown eyes, and a fond smile.
“You don’t have to be the strong one all the time.” Connor couldn’t come up with the words to describe his gratitude for his boyfriend, he could only nod and let out a shaky sigh when their foreheads touched and their nose nuzzled.
Oliver said everything was going to be okay. God Connor hoped he was right.
They don’t watch RENT for a long while after that.
He’s been incredibly disrespectful to Hal Prince (not inviting him to direct Phantom 25 for example)
He allows James Barbour to remain in the Broadway production
The new tour of Phantom is completely disrespectful to both Maria B’s costumes and sets (they use different sets but Maria’s costumes were meant to go with the original sets!) The tour also features a lot of violence against Christine, who becomes very passive, and features a gross LND esque Raoul.
He has snubbed Rebecca Caine on various occasions
His casting of Phantom 25 was incredibly disrespectful to many Phantom performers past and present (Daisy Maywood, Hadley Fraser, Wynne Evans and Kiera Duffy (who later withdrew) had never played the roles before) and he didn’t include many international Phantom performers (where was Colby Thomas and George Lee Andrews, for example)
Pulled the plug on the Las Vegas production
@apartment303 this seems petty but i don’t like him
