Goals
I need some space from myself tbh.
I was on an exciting month+ long adventure with my family, and I love that, but I am but a wee fairy changeling who is very introverted and must hide sometime. I feel like ever since I got back, I’ve been trying to play catch-up with everything - my shifts at NEDA, paying bills, cleaning my apartment, writing assignments (SO many writing assignments) etc
Saturday I had a LITERAL 13 HOUR social day with four different groups of people. I expected to have downtime in between but NOPE it was just hopping from one activity to the next with no space. And it’s an amazing feeling to have that many people who I love and to feel so loved in return, but WOW there are some bills that STILL have not been paid and writing assignments STILL not finished and wedding invites STILL not RSVP’d to . . .
And as much as I want to keep just barreling into my writing and write and do nothing but writing (which is what I kind of have been doing and want to keep doing tbh) I want to make a public declaration that I want to make some time for me and to create an environment that’s even more peaceful and productive in which I can do my Work.
And if I do say so myself, my bedroom in this apartment looks pretty darn Pinterest. I worked very hard making it as pretty as it is. I’d like to keep it looking neat and clean and right and tight so that I can enjoy all the hard work I put (okay, and also Hallie a little [read as: a lot] also put) in to create an environment that looks like as close to my dream room as one can get without a $6k anthropologie tree bed.
I’m taking steps for the first time in (too many) years to get myself mentally and physically healthy, because when you work at a helpline and spend 8-12 hours a week telling people that they deserve to get better and that no matter how long they’ve been struggling, recovery IS possible, you kiiiiinda start to believe it may apply to you as well. So far I’ve been hustling for it, and it’s going pretty well.
I want to extend that health and cleansing to my physical space as well, which I think will also tie into aforementioned personal health. For multiple reasons. But also because I think I would be more inclined to do things like meditate and do yoga in a space that is clean and peaceful.
So anyway. Here is my public declaration that I’m gonna clean the fuck out of my personal space. And it’s gonna be awesome.
