have you ever listened to Voltaire (the musician, not the philosopher)? he's got quite a lot of songs about monsters, many of which involve relationships to various degrees of carnality
I thought about Voltaire, but to be honest the moment I listened to even one note of his music again I was emotionally catapulted back to high school, when I'd made a ton of mix CDs of his music and listened to them again and again. Couldn’t do it. Can’t go back.
I will say that Dead Girls was one of the first songs I thought of for this list before I realized that wasn’t about monsterfucking so much as just. Necrophilia.
That was actually a distinction I had to make again and again with this playlist and I don’t know what it says about me but I do know what it says about the musical genre of psychobilly.

I understand cats will bite when they're overstimulated or feel threatened, but my miniature chaos entity disguised as a tortie will frequently just come over while I'm completely minding my own business and start gnawing on my fingers for absolutely no reason I can figure out. is she trying to communicate something to me? I try to just tell her no and then disengage and not give her attention for it but it hasn't helped much.
A lot of the communication-biting can also be overstimulation, but just another FORM of overstimulation. The version of “I need to portray how much you mean to me/how hungry I am/something else but I’m not quite sure how”. Sometimes it’s frustration, sometimes it’s just overwhelming stimulation of some kind emotionally.Sometimes it’s because you got something tasty on your finger.
Usually, the bite-communication thing TENDS to be less common in cats that were raised with a litter. Other cats don’t tolerate that form of communication so they learn to knock it off and figure out better, more productive ways of communicating. But as we’ve learned, “usually” doesn’t ever mean “always”. Try cutting the “no” from your disengage. As I’ve said, “no” has to meaning to cats. No = words = attention, full stop. So what’s happening is, Cat wants attention and bites. You say no. That is some form of attention, which the cat was seeking. You’ve rewarded her for biting your hand, even though you disengaged from her. Granted, yes, it’s hard disengaging without saying anything because having your fingers bitten obviously hurts, but try to do it as best as you can consistently.

I had the pins & the corkboard for several years before it occurred to me to combine the two! looks rly nice but now i keep on buying pins to fill it up...
you know how in The Silmarillion the Valar decide not to directly confront Melkor in Middle Earth again because when they did it was so destructive it reshaped the world and they didn't want to kill everyone living on it? but they sent divine aid in the form of the wizards to help guide the races of Middle Earth towards saving themselves? maybe the Axolotl--or whatever set up these zodiacs--has a similar deal going on.
That makes sense! Although I still wish there was an easier manner of communicating these symbols... if that’s what’s going on.
I admit I may have latched onto this theory as it’s been well... the first theory to make sense in most regards.

thursday: have you ever written a high fantasy concept?
A while back, for a high school creative writing class. It was full of alchemy and reincarnation and all the characters were named after flowers, and it was complete garbage by my current standards but I loved writing it.
I think it was close to sixty pages. If I remember correctly, the required length was closer to ten pages. I ended up just emailing my teacher the document because there was no way I was printing that monster out and carrying it into class.
saturday: what gets you excited whilst writing?
When I’m starting a new idea: I’m just as excited to see how the characters will react to a scenario as the readers! I’m finding it hard to describe the feeling but I get so excited about and invested in new plot possibilities (which is probably why I have a solid fifteen started-but-not finished AUs laying around).
When I’m working on a longer WIP: There are these scenes (usually later in the story) that I envision so vividly in my head, so much that I think about them on an almost daily basis. It’s those scenes, and wanting to properly build up to them and then finally share them with the world, that really keeps me going at times.
april: have you ever written and/or posted a crackfic?
I haven’t posted or written any, but I definitely have some ideas. I’ve been meaning to write a Deltarune/GF crossover, which sounds like it has potential for massive angst, but it’ll probably end up mostly crack.
tomorrow: favourite ways to write fluff?
hurt everyone and then do whatever I can to make it hurt less I don’t think I have any consistent strategy for writing fluff. It’s usually ideas that come to me out of the blue, so I always end up tackling it a different way. Though when I want the fluff to overlap with comfort, I usually end up asking myself something like “what’s a positive emotion that this character didn’t get many chances to feel in canon, and what’s an interesting or moving way to make them feel that?”
