When chuck found out about the winchester’s plans to close the gates of hell, he grew enraged that they were trying to offset the balance of good and evil that he had created (despite that it could easily be argued that that balance had been off for a long time). the anger set off a hasty chain of decisions that would rock the world of several of the universes that he had created.
