✿ アプフェルシュトゥルーデル | Apfelstrudel ・リンゴやレーズンやナッツ、シナモンを薄く伸ばした生地で巻いて焼き上げたお菓子。その名称は、ドイツ語でアプフェル(Apfel)は「りんご」、シュトゥルーデル(Strudel)は「渦巻き」を意味します。 ・ストゥルーデルの原型は、バルカン半島と中東で親しまれている「バクラヴァ」にルーツを持つとされ、ハンガリーを経由してオーストリアに伝わったと言われています。また、ハプスブルク家のマリア・テレジアにも提供されたデザートとしても知られおり、現存する最古のレシピ“Koch Puech”(1696年)はウィーン市立図書館に保管されています。

Couldn't believe it's the same hotel Sacher Noni & I visited years ago, the salon is so popular now, tourists from all over the world were in the queue...

Husband invited his boss and wove over - went all in with my German cooking. Rouladen, Spätzle, creamy peas & carrots, red cabbage. It’s not hard to do, but takes a lot of time (ok, not the veggies 😆).

Dessert was Apfelstrudel (the dough gave me quite a headache today - no idea why)

Kiddo was very happy about the food (everyone else too ;) and despite beeing super hyper after dinner he still went to bed really good (a bit later then usual, but not that much). So we could enjoy some adult conversations (and the chocolate pie they brought 😁).
