BEHOLD, Hetalibur!
:D Mary wanted to see all the characters I made in SC5, so I just decided to put it up on Tumblr. They're all works in progress, but I love them enough to share xDD A few things about the designs:
A: Some of those are guesstimated (Like Alfred's outfit), for lack of better references B: As much as I would love to, I can't make their military uniforms. None of the jackets look right to me. C: It's for fun; they're not all going to be perfect. Just enjoy 'em!
Character Cards (Left to Right):
Cardverse!America
Revolutionary War!England
France
Super Asian!China
Spain
The five at the bottom are my own characters xDD Weee don't have to worry about them.
Character Card: Japan
America was very hard to make. He went through about three forms: Regular America, Revolutionary War America, and Cardverse. The jackets in SC5 all kind of suck and none of them really take to looking like leather, whether in the ring or not. I wasn't happy with the design sans the jacket (It was too plain xD), so I scrapped it. Next came Revolutionary War!America. That didn't exactly look right either, mostly because I already had Revolutionary War!England, and, yeah, I didn't particularly want a set (Weird, right?) Cardverse is the only one I'm really "Content" with and I'm still not happy with him. Sometimes I feel like taking the crown off, but I kind of like it and it looks like he feels self-important, which is sort of how I see Alfred, so there. xD The design is based off of a million Cardverse drawings I've seen around, but none of them were very clear cut references. Basically what I got from them was: His jacket's blue, he wears a suit (Which I couldn't accomplish), his tie is either brown or blue and his pants are brown (But his boots are many and varied, sometimes he just wears regular shoes.) He's based on Devil Jin (From Tekken). Why? Because goddamn, did you see him in Paint it, White!? xDD
England wasn't that hard to figure out. I couldn't do his regular uniform and at the time, Cardverse hadn't occurred to me yet, so I decided on this. I'm still working on the cuffs to make them that funky black and white design that they actually are, but, like I said, they're all works in progress xDD. He's based on Dampierre, because I find it hilarious when Dampierre!England grabs America (While in a match), bends him over and spanks him. Hilarious. Also, the knives on the front? I couldn't get the sash/holster without the knives. Sooo, yeah.
France is just his regular self. I tried to get the closest possible fits to his outfit and I think I did pretty well. Appropriately, he's based on Raphael, who uses a rapier. xD
China went Super-Asian because goddamn, I can't find ANY outfits for this guy. If anyone has any better suggestions let me know. For now, I kind of like his design even though his hairstyle's kind of messed up. To me, this doesn't really look like China at all, but I felt like it needed to be done anyway. Complete the set, as it were. He's based on Natsu, who is kind of like Taki but a lot cheaper. xD (I think it's Taki's daughter actually...) Originally, I went with Leixia, but that was just too girly.
Spain was hilariously fun for me. He was simple and easy to make, and I enjoy pitting him against France. They really balance each other out. He's based on Astaroth, because dude can swing a fucking axe.
Japan isn't one I'm particularly proud of. He seemed like a cheap copout when I made him and frankly, he still seems a little too plain, although he is based on Mitsurugi and his weapon trails sakura blossom pink, so there's something xD. The epaulletes (The gold things on his shoulders) kind of bug me a little, but he has them sometimes, so I figured I'd put them in.
And here's an epic shot of France to end the post. Rofl. I hope you enjoyed these; they were pretty time-consuming but I had a lot of fun with them. I'm still improving, but it's really the fighting that matters, anyways. xDD
