I wasn't too sure at first, so I went to investigate their blog after they commented on my most recent ships post. I could tell from their comment that they had a negative vibe, but I initially chose to ignore it. It was only after reading the words "active Hetalia HATER" in their bio that I blocked them.

Hello! Do you have a crush in hetalia? And which character do you relate to the most!?

Funnily enough, in terms of personality, my Hetalia crush now is the polar opposite of who I crushed on in middle school. Back then, I crushed on Romano, Norway, and 2p!Canada.

But as for the character I crush on now? That would have to be Denmark. To me, he's always seemed optimistic and upbeat while still being family-oriented and protective, and I appreciate that. Those are qualities that I personally find to be very attractive. Especially as someone who is more introverted, I feel like an extroverted person like Denmark can help me grow as a person and get out of my shell.

As for which character I relate to the most? That would have to be both Germany and Denmark.

I relate to Germany because, similar to him, I tend to be socially awkward in most situations. I don't always pick up on social cues and am relatively clueless when it comes to romance and dating, as well as forging and maintaining friendships in general. I don't always understand what people are trying to tell me, and I would rather they just spit it out instead of beating around the bush.

I relate to Denmark because, once I'm able to find someone I really connect with, I suddenly become just like him. Extroverted, happy, super talkative, and maybe just a bit too hyper.

hi im scared the anon who sent that original confession was talking about me (im writing a vent fic that unfortunately is about a rareship) so im sending an ask bc i totally agree with you. im explicitly using my fic to process what happened to me and (hopefully) make it so i can look at these characters together and not spiral into a panic attack

I'm sorry people have been giving you a hard time for the way you write your fanfiction. I may not know what you personally have gone through, but I want you to know that there is nothing to be ashamed of, and that you are loved in this fandom. <3

And as for the people giving you hate? Ignore them. And if they continue, block them entirely. This is why the good Lord blessed us with a block button. And besides, if people don't like what you write, the fault is on them, not you. They know they have the ability to read something else yet are choosing not to do so. So, I will reiterate; this is on them, not you. <3

You have every right to write your fanfic however you want. And if your fanfiction is helping you process your trauma in a healthy way that doesn't hurt you or anyone else? Then I say go for it and keep writing, sweetie. <3

There MUST be an undiscovered kind of trauma special for hetalia fans. I don't know how to explain it, and i can't show a tangible evidence for this statement but hetalia manages to "traumatise" everyone. I am not mad doctor!! I swear my abandonment issues are evil spells cast by hws England!!! /hj

I sat here and tried to think up some kind of deep, impactful answer for this. But my brain's coming up dry.

Maybe we were traumatized by the Episode 23.5 creepypasta? Or perhaps Hetaoni? Or the super edgy variations of the 2p!s which essentially bordered on creepypastas? Or one of the many deeply disturbing fanfics? Or the people at conventions who... You know what? I'm gonna stop there.

Another returning/veteran fan? I discovered Hetalia and got really into it during the same years as you did, although I was only lurking and not creating any content. Well, almost. I was most interested in Hetalia from 2012-2015, then until Season 7 was released I would only look at Hetalia occasionally. My favorite characters were and still are the Nordics, so I was deep into fanon and shipping back then (the canon Nordics really suck). When I returned in 2022 though, my interest in Hetalia changed to focus on the real countries and cultures instead of the canon Hetalia content.

What about you? What drew you in to Hetalia at first? Who were your favorite characters then and now? Have the elements of Hetalia that interest you changed since you joined the fandom? Do you have any funny or cringe memories of the old fandom?

Hey! Nice to see another returning/veteran fan!

I was also more or less just lurking around back in the day, not creating any content. But I definitely loved perusing around all the fan-content I found interesting. Which, seeing how big the fandom was back in the day, was never in short supply. I wasn't super deep into shipping (though I did have a few ships I enjoyed), but I absolutely got invested in fanon, to the point where I even confused some fanon elements to be canon for the longest time (like the fanon version of Scotland lol).

Returning to the fandom has been interesting, in that I still indulge in a little bit of fanon I suppose, but I'm also just having fun looking at everything through the modern day lens, especially now that I'm more invested in current world events.

I was first introduced to Hetalia by a couple of friends at school who were into the show. But what really sucked me in was not only the comedy, but the fact that I was already very interested in world history, and Hetalia gave me a new way to look at it (if not always the most accurate). As a result I got deeply invested in the historical side of the fandom. I was petty into the fanon, 2p!s, creepypastas, and Hetaoni as well... But holy crap the historical side of the fandom had a chokehold on me (still kinda does, tbh).

I think I've become more and more interested in thinking about how the characters would react to current world events, especially with the conflicts arising in places like Europe and the Middle East, with the threat of war in Asia arising as well. I know this may sound unsettling, but it is intersting to me as an adult that's gotten much more invested in looking at/analyzing world politics and conflicts.

My favorite characters are Romano, Prussia, America, Denmark, Norway, Italy, 2p!Canada, 2p!France, and 2p!Prussia.

And as for funny/cringe memories of the old fandom? Not a ton. I was really good about not really socializing with other people online back in the day, so I didn't know about a lot of the messed up crap some of the fans were getting into and doing.

Though I was the kid running around her middle school hallways singing and calling out "PASTA~!" throughout seventh grade so... Yeah, the cringe in my Hetalia past was me.

There's so much I wanted to write here, but I think I'll save some of those for future posts. There really is so much to talk about.

Shoot, It's hard to pick just one favorite. With so many characters, it's hard to not have multiple (especially if you include the 2p!s).

I think my favorite 1p! characters would have to be Romano, Prussia, America, Denmark, Norway, and of course our boy Italy.

My favorite 2p! characters would have to be 2p!Canada, 2p!France, and 2p!Prussia.

(Especially 2p!France, because his tired, stressed, annoyed attitiude about seemingly everything resonates with me now that I'm an adult lol).

You’re Romanian!! What are some of your favorite headcanons for hws Romania? Do you have any name headcanons?

If there's a popular headcanon I like about him that isn't mine then it's him being a trickster and a father to Moldova instead of a brother.

As for the name, I'm not against using "Vladimir" so technically I don't really have a headcanon for that.

But I prefer different family names such as: Aldea, Bradu, Petru/Petrea, Balaj, Bora, Barbu, Dobre, Dragan, Iordan, Lupan, Neagu, Pană...etc. I've seen too many "-escu" and I'm not a fan. I used to have Lupeanu too.

However if I'd have to chose a different name other than Vladimir because of reasons, I'd chose from these: Avram, Dorian, David, Bogdan, Vadim, Sergiu, Valeriu, Liviu, Martin, Ovidiu. Adrian is good too.

Not to be an annoying MBTI nerd, but MBTI uses cognitive functions to type people (or characters) instead of "I - introverted" or "S - sensing". Cognitive functions are quite complicated to explain, but basically each type has four different cognitive functions that are different in importance. These cognitive functions are divided in four pairs: intuition (introverted (ni) and extroverted (ne)), sensing (si and se), feeling (fi and fe) and thinking (ti and te). All types use at least two introverted and two extroverted functions. For example: INFPs have a stack of Fi-Ne-Si-Te. This means their primary function is Fi, and each function after is "lesser" than the other. The functions also go by an introverted (or extroverted) function first, followed by a extroverted (or introverted) function after.

I don't know if you already know this information and decided to use a more simple way of typing, in which case I don't blame you, since cognitive functions can be a pain to type. I hope I wasn't too rude or intrusive with this explanation either!
