Friend: I like BritanniaxGermania because you don’t see a tough man falling in love with a friend that fights like an angry bear with rabies! It’s a pretty cool thing!

i want to ask you admins what do you think about rome x greece some of my friends said that they suck together but i said them they dont and actually are one of the most historical accurate couples.

Me: to us, RomexAncientGreece is actually one of our few historically accurate pairings. There’s also MesopotamiaxAncientEgypt, if you want to look at them from that perspective :) Oh, then there’s RomexChina, another historically accurate one too :) 

Friend: the way we see it, Rome loved Greece so much that the first thing he said to her were mainly praises. He loved her culture, her art, her passion for theatre and poetry, her intelligence, her fashion, her deities, and basically, her everything. He treated her equally and with respect too because he looks up to her highly. Although the Greeks did rebel a couple of times, Rome will forever love Greece. 

Me: Greece was king of like Rome’s role model, but instead of only looking up to her, he had feelings towards her later on. Rome value Greece more than anyone, not only in culture, but in personality wise too. Ancient Greece is not only an intelligent woman that can recite all of Homer’s work by heart, but she’s also a fierce fighter. She’s everything Rome dreamed of in a lover. 

Friend: so that’s our opinion of the pairing! Rome copied almost everything of Ancient Greece’s, and in return, he place her in the safety of his empire, away from the Persians. I guess you can say that it’s Rome’s way of saying ‘I’ll love you, and I will protect you’, so when he split into two, he was devastated that Ancient Greece died because he couldn’t protect her. He loves Ancient Greece, and there may be slight hints that she loves him back too ;P 

Me: I hope this makes sense, and I hope you can tell your friends your opinions with these backed up facts~ ^^

The love situation so far...

(I know that there are people new to this blog and doesn’t know the pairings yet, so we thought it would be a good idea to sum it up in one post ^^)

Rome likes Greece (he loves her so much)

Persia likes Greece (he likes her, but she sees him as an enemy)

Greece doesn't really like anyone, but is closer to Rome

Anatolia likes Persia (but is really shy about it, but helps Persia out sometimes with Greece even though she doesn’t like it)

Byzantine likes Anatolia (asked her to stay in his house for a couple of centuries)

Pontus likes Iberia (but tsundere about it)

Iberia likes Pontus (thinks that Pontus hates him)

Germania likes Britannia (a lot, but Britannia sees him as a close friend)

Gaul likes Britannia (thinks of Germania as his rival. Gaul doesn’t know how to talk to girls, which is why he would always pick fights with Britannia)

Britannia doesn’t love any ancient (she’s THAT blind)

Aestii likes Scandinavia (she acts shy about it)

Scandinavia has confused feelings towards Britannia (he’s still unsure about her, but he always fights with her)

Mesopotamia likes Ancient Egypt (he’s very close with her)

Ancient Egypt likes China (she doesn’t say it... or look like it... or is probably even aware of it)

Carthage likes no one (he has no feelings towards love... yet)

China is in the same position as Carthage (he’s also blind at times, and is always the last person to know the love relationship between nations)

Inca doesn’t love anyone, but may have slight feelings for Maya...

Aztec likes Maya (neighbours)

Maya doesn’t love anyone (he thinks of Aztec and Inca as her brothers)

I Ship APH Respect/Maturity

  Please like or reblog, like or otherwise boost this I think it is important.  Not fun but important.  Hey maybe even add the tag for your ship to say that said ship supports all these points.  Or character tags that fans of said character support these points also.  The more I see it boosted the more proud I will be of aph tumblr.  And it's long and you guys hate that but it needs to be to finally address these issues.  Not only that but I recommend saving a link to this post so that if one sees this one can pull the post out and remind people again if needed.  Or just say I ship aph respect/maturity!! Oh and add the tag ships to the group that may be violating these points.

I support RESPECT in the APH fandom and in general. Specifically:

1. Not everyone in aph fandom will like or ship what you do and that is fine.  Not everyone will embrace every aspect of said ship either or see it the way you do and that is great.  It would be a boring fandom if everyone thought the same and agreed on everything.  I respect their right to an opinion and their right to be an free thinking individual.

2. I don't drink the Kool Aid for ships.  I understand that every ship has it's dark side and reasons why it may not be.  I understand these aspects and value them because they make the ship richer and more complexly layered.

3. I don't drink the Kool Aid for characters either.  I understand that every aph character particularly since these are nations we are dealing with has its light and dark aspects.  I respect the existence of both and not only that, I also respect the right to exist of all variations.  Especially the one's I don't like.  Doesn't mean I can't try to encourage less common ones or have to like them all but if I critique I do so with respect and understanding that what I voice is fundamentally a opinion.

4. I SUPPORT and RESPECT APH Diversity in every way!!

5. I support others right to critique ships, trends or anything in aph.  I handle such critique from a place of maturity.  I may disagree and have a right to voice my opinion in a respectful manner.  

6. Voicing my opinion in a respectful manner means I do not call people names, like "hoes" because first of all that is lame and shows that you must not have a case if all you can do is sling mud.  Second it is rude. 

7. I am not GOD.  Or a dictator.  I have NO RIGHT to order people around.  I can counsel,  give advice, make a sales pitch, say that I wish or want something, make my point and my case but I have NO RIGHT on any platform to boss people around.  That means that I Do NOT tell them what to do, I do not tell them to 'deal with it' or to 'suck it' etc.  When I encounter people who are doing this I will NOT stoop to their level.  I will respectfully but firmly remind them of the existence of my right and the rights of others.

8. Because I agree with points 1-7 I will not support a post, even if I agree with it's point of view if it is stated in a manner that violates any of points 1-7.  I do not support bulling and oppression of the views of others in aph fandom.  I believe in freedom of expression and thought!! Since I do that means I must tolerate opinions that I disagree with most especially.  Even if I agree with an opinion I will not like or support it if it is not stated in a respectful and hopefully thoughtful manner.  In fact I may even speak up and correct such behavior when I see.  

9. It's one thing to say I like or dislike something and why or to express an desire for something to be or not and why; that is stating an opinion.  When one states a opinion one understands that it is subjective, personal and there for possibly not completely true.  You are also recognizing the right of others to disagree. 

10. When I encounter immature posts I will not try my best not to freak out either (looking at you some of my fellow ameripan shippers).  I will employ points 7-8 and will understand that it happens but does not ruin a ships rep as long as we all do what said points 7-8 said promptly.  If it persists then we ignore.  Most often that kind of stuff is just symptomatic of the posters immaturity and attention seeking needs so it's best not to feed the trolls.  The only reason I spoke up at the previous is because 25 likes in favor of a hateful post by a such a popular pair is disturbing to see.  None the less I did my best to contain my snark, I could have been SO much meaner.  (I hate being told what to do and poorly constructed arguments especially when they don't understand what they are critiquing etc.) I hardly even bring my historynerd rage out anymore either lol because I try to be nicer and am generally too busy creating content. If I do voice my issues with a ship I tend not to even tag it with said ship, just general tags because I don't want to harsh their mellow.

11. Before I critique something I will strive to understand what I critique.  Understanding what something is about and what lies behind it will not only make my critique better, but will also aid in making it a respectful one.  Also people are more likely to listen to respectful, thoughtful, well supported and reasoned opinions. 

13. Variety is the Spice of LIFE.  From time to time I encourage checking out new ships, ideas, takes, variations and rare ones.  In fact content creators, how about we file them under the tag rare ship (this includes gen ships because sadly they are rare in aph.  They can be gen or not too.  Just has to be the dominant views.  (Seriously hearing about people being hateful to gen fic writers is like, so wrong.)  This last one is optional but I think if more people did this that I think it would make the fandom better in every way.  OTPs are great but being aware of the diversity of aph, leads to greater understanding over all and a richer fandom.  After all we have all of history, and culture as sources of canon to delve into not just the anime/manga.  Take aph Canada x Netherlands what a great ship that is completely based on others knowing there history as is America x Germany and many more 'rare ships'.  There isn't a right or wrong in this and all can exist in the fandom and should be allowed to exist.  Not only that but people who who put the effort to come up with new ideas should be supported and their ideas given a chance.
