Mansalas, Tibetan sand art, takes months, and then the final picture is swiped away. I like to think Tibet finds the process serene.

Persia and China had a lil swing going on but it was just some casual fun, they understood each other. They used to hang out and paint each other. Or do other “stuff” ya know what I mean

APH Asia Week 2021

Day 8 - Thailand + Vietnam / Sports / “The sun will rise and we will try again.”

Lien - Vietnam / Dirga - Indonesia

This is more like a platonic thing. I only wanted them to interact since I like both characters. And I apologize for the grammar mistakes, English isn’t my first language. I also liked the idea of them being athletes. ------------------------------

After the last lap, Lien stopped. She was breathless, but she wanted to continue. She was one of the fastest runners of the Track team, but she wanted to be the number one. She felt frustrated as she realised her time was the same. Lien was usually a very serious and patient girl, but when it was about running, she became competitive. 

Then someone gave her a bottle of water. She raised her head and saw the tall figure of a guy. It was Dirga who was part of the boys’ team. She knew him because they had some classes in common and they talked a little when they were in competitions, but she thought he was nice. 

“Thank you” she said with a hint of a smile. “Were you training too?” she asked, surprised to see him there.

“Yeah, I’m getting slow,” he admitted, a little embarrassed. 

She smiled again. It looked like she wasn’t the only one, but to tell the truth Dirga was really good too, even though he came in fifth place in the last race. So she assumed he wanted to be in the top three. 

“Well, to tell the truth I’ve been observing you” he whispered. 

Then she got defensive.

“Are you stalking me?” she asked him.

Dirga opened his eyes wide.

“I-I’m not! I swear! Wait, what I said sounds really weird right? No, I meant that I admire you” he replied. 

Lien looked at him, raised an eyebrow and crossed her arms, waiting for an explanation. 

“You are the reason why I joined the team. The first time I saw you running you looked so free. You put your heart and soul into the race and I just… wanted to feel the same. I told you I’m getting slow and it’s so frustrating, but I don’t want to give up when you are doing your best” he explained. 

Lien let her guard down. She understood that frustration too. She would be lying if she said she was satisfied with herself. 

“Hey, don’t push yourself too much. I know it’s hard, but you know what they say, the sun will rise and we will try again,” she told him. 

Dirga smiled. It was the first time someone actually encouraged him instead of pressure him. Then, they decided to go home. Tomorrow will be another day.
