I've been switching between fandoms because of how burnt out each community has made me these days despite my hyperfocuses

First it was pjo, then blocktales, I'm kinda sticking to SCP as of now but hopefully I can pick myself back up soon

I scratch my head a bit in nervousness when people talking about especially native Indonesians making Indonesian characters that are pale

Because I'm native Indonesian and I'm considered relatively much paler than the others 🥲 I got it from one of my mom's older relatives, I think it's a recessive gene— I guess you can say it helps me connect better? (Especially since I color picked from my own photos sometimes for my main OCs and self inserts)

Sure, I didn't make all my Indo OCs pale (only my main ones and self insert / sonas like Aphroula and Jezebel + Kythira, ones that represent me specifically) and it's nothing bad obvi but yk it's still a bit scary seeing posts on that LOL we Indos are not just the same shade of brown guys 😰 pale native Indos exist too I'm crine

This does inspire me to make more indo characters with darker skin tones though (I recently made Andromakhe but idk if it counts since Kyoko and Calypso are only implied to be Indonesians)

Uhmm I don't know, brother....— maybe because WE BATAK KARO PEOPLE DON'T HAVE GODS AND ACTUALLY DETAILED MYTHS?? All we got are plant spirits which- cool, I respect them cuz Greek mythology has nymphs and alike !

But where are our myths?? Where is our version of Hesiod Theogony???? WHERE?? I don't recall us having any poets or anyone write down our stuff and beliefs

It's so hard to find anything native to this country, it's probably all the colonization but.. there should be something left?? Is there not? I'm kinda upset about it because everything from my culture is completely demonized even if it's as small as you having a mythical spirit guard your crops because people keep stealing them
