Betty does not want to be there, Bruce isolates himself from everything because he does not know how to live with people and takes care of his integrity from being bullied by bully for being ... you know ... nerd

In an attempt to isolate themselves, they both meet in the laboratory, Bruce does not talk to her, not because of how she looks, is because she is a girl

Betty looks at him with curiosity and she can not see to be nice and talk to him, they both discover that they love science, which surprises Bruce, because she did not meet the stereotype that he evidently did.

This two start a friendship that eventually turned into a crush on each other.
