Some people will also believe that their best memories were made with their loved ones, while visiting with relatives, or during their childhood. As for me, my trip to Intramuros in 2018 is a special memorable event that I will always live to remember.
It's a busy city filled with energy and activity 24 hours a day, seven days a week. The traffic is terrible with cars, trucks, and the famous public jeepneys clogging the streets when you visit Intramuros. However, all seems to be on hold, the city seems to come to a standstill as life slows. A place exists about an hour and a half away from the hustle and bustle of Muntinlupa city.
• A city that looks just like the one mentioned by Jose Rizal in his famous book Noli Me Tangere.
• Intramuros is also known as the Walled City. This is due to the fact that it is completely surrounded by thick, high stonewalls. Intramuros was a place where politics and religion coexisted.
• It held not only the most prestigious schools, wealthy apartments, and respected government offices in Manila, but also the most magnificent churches.
• The Walled City beat with life in its prime, vibrating with energy. Efforts to protect the Walled City and bring its illustrious history back to life are more successful than ever.
I went to Intramuros with my boyfriend last November, 2018. I'd never been before, but I was fascinated by what I saw and experienced during my tour of the city. All seemed so interesting and fascinating for some reason. Also to added that this trip is our first trip with my boyfriend away from Muntinlupa, that’s why it’s so special that I will always live to remember. We traveled around the city roaming around by foot. All in Intramuros is in excellent condition.
• Everything seemed so alive, the long and narrow stoned avenues, the grand lampposts, the large stone buildings that had been converted into company offices, the massive steel barred gates, the grand churches.
That’s why we the current generation of Filipinos has come to realized and recognized the importance of our national heritage. Bearing in mind that Intramuros is a precious gem that must be shared with the rest of the world. Intramuros is the best place to visit in Manila if you want to get a glimpse of the city's history and beauty. It’s a place I will always live to remember and had a special place in my heart.
