Welcoming (1/10): 4/10. When I joined Apollo the first time, it was very welcoming and I got a good amount of messages from most of the people there. But then school got busy and I had to drop my character, but after two or so months I got the time to rp again, and decided to rejoin. The second time, I got about three welcome messages in total, and the admins didn’t even send me anything.
Admins(1/10): 1/10. First off, the admins are never there. In fact, Admin Kwon isn’t even part of the rp, which really confuses me. Admin Kookie is really inactive also, and always talks about doing more things for the rp, and never fulfills those promises. The admins have specifically told people that they don’t like SM faceclaims.
Apollo Entertainment is a roleplay based on an entertainment company in Korea, and they have set groups with different concepts that debut once the slots fill up. From the start, there was an obvious bias toward Crosse, the hip hop oriented boy group. The admins always pushed for Crosse’s debut, even when Crosse’s positions were never filled and other group, Khaos, had complete members and had great group chemistry. When they finally relented to let Parade, a girl group who the admins also have a slight bias toward, debut before Crosse, they got a half-assed debut with no promotions or performances or schedules or anything. They slapped up a few pictures and audio and called it a day. Things were promised to them, but they never happened.
Admin Kookie’s character was in a relationship with a Seolhyun at Apollo. The relationship started in between my times there so I’m not sure about all of that, but I do know that Jungkook randomly changed personalities in the middle of the relationship to a point where Seolhyun’s mun was uncomfortable with her character being in the relationship because she felt that they were no longer compatible. She told this to Jungkook’s mun, who then proceeded to complain to the other muns about Seolhyun, saying that as a mun, they hated the fact that Jungkook likes Seolhyun and that she was a wishy washy character. Then there was another instance when two members, Taehyun and Jonghyun, were discussing a subunit. Admin Kookie got extremely angry at the fact that they were discussing this and basically shut them down, even though they really weren’t planning anything other than talking about how it would be fun.
Finally, there was a whole debacle that has since been deleted with a mun that wanted to join Apollo. She was denied acceptance solely because Admin Kwon was on another rp with her and for some reason didn’t like her there. People make mistakes, and people change. One mistake shouldn’t make a mun ostracized from an rp. And as if that wasn’t bad enough, they then proceeded to kick out a whole host of people from the rp, and anyone who was known to have been friends with that mun was kicked out, even though they did nothing.
The roleplay is basically run by Admin Kwon because Admin Kookie is so MIA all the time. Admin Kookie’s tone is condescending at all times and it makes them difficult to approach. Plus, they never even send welcome messages and they have another character in the rp who only has a thread with one person and has been inactive, but still clears the activity check.
Atmosphere(1/10): 6/10. Other than the admins, the other members of the roleplay are great. A few points got subtracted because not very many people are active, but the ones who are active are welcoming and friendly, and always open for plotting. The points really get lost because of the admins and the fact that they can never stick to one theme on the main blog. The theme is constantly changing and often times many of the links do not work.
Literacy(1/10): 10/10. The quality of writing in this roleplay is very good. I never had a thread where the writing wasn’t good. There was no one in the rp who I felt wasn’t literate, and everyone could at least properly articulate their thoughts through their writing.
Opinions on improvements of this role play?: I would suggest that the admins handle everything in a more professional manner. Not letting someone into the roleplay because of your own personal feelings toward them is unfair and unprofessional as admins. Admins cannot be badmouthing their own rpers, and they need to be understanding of everyone’s feelings.
Overall: Overall, I really wouldn’t recommend this rp. The members are great and the rp has some really good writing, but the execution is sloppy and the admins really ruin it.
