Starburst Smile || Apollo & Isaac
It hadn’t been the best day for Isaac. Which hadn’t happened to him in quite a while. He’d been late to two of his classes, forgot a part of his paper for another and he’d skipped breakfast and lunch because he’d simply lost track of time in all the craziness. All he wanted was to have the day end on a good note. And as he sat there at his desk, head in his hands, the only thought that came to his mind was Apollo. It always went to Apollo if he were being fair. And even more so now that he wasn’t hiding himself from him. It was an odd feeling. They hadn’t spoken about any of it since that night and he supposed that was more than okay with the other. Apollo didn’t like to talk about what he was feeling or thinking. Not as much as Isaac would have liked but he wasn’t going to change that for the other. Apollo was an enigma but he was his enigma and though some days it was harder than others, unraveling that man had been one of the more satisfying ventures he’d had in a long, long while.
His head drifted to look out the window, at the other dorms. It was late. Far too late to just waltz into Gryffindor dorms unannounced. They had never exchanged numbers but that didn’t really seem to matter since they never used them when they were around each other. And from what Isaac was told about Apollo’s family life, a man being around his son at late hours didn’t seem to something the Lion wanted getting back to him. Which he wasn’t entirely sure how he’d felt about. Surely Apollo hadn’t felt that way or they wouldn’t be whatever they were. And it wasn’t enough to keep Isaac from seeing Apollo. As he drew in a deep breath he knew he’d have to find a way to grab his attention. The snake clicked his tongue against the back of his teeth as he’d weighed his options and went back and forth between them. A small smile spread on his face and Isaac hopped up from his chair and damn near barreled out of his own room and out from the dorm itself.
He made short work of the walk between the two dorms and soon found himself standing outside the rather prominent brick building. Isaac walked around a little ways to the side, looking up to see if he could see a light or anything coming from the windows he knew belonged to the Lion’s room. “Go’ya.” He smiled wider seeing the very faint hint of a light on. Whether that meant Apollo was awake or even in there was another matter entirely. Without much hesitation, Isaac rubbed his hands together quickly until one of his small orbs dispensed out the bottom of his palms. The little thing swirled around Isaac’s body before it came to sat on his shoulder. While he couldn’t have pets of any sort, this seemed to make up for it. At least he could will his magic to help him as well as .. well at least it helped.
Isaac repeated the process a few more times until he had at least a dozen. All of them floating around his body and floating seemingly mindless until he’d snapped his fingers. All of the orbs shuffled into a line perpendicular and nearly as tall as Isaac himself. His index finger flicked upward sending each orb upward one at a time to the window he’d now had his eye fixed on.
The first one circled around the window, leaving light streaks in it’s wake and soon the others joined until they’d created a soft glowing sphere outside the windows. The colors started to pulse in the softest hues Isaac could picture at the time. And soon the shape shifted into a square and then into a cone and so on and so forth. Creating a sort of show in the air to which had grabbed Milo’s attention. Isaac couldn’t help the small leap in his heart at the sight of the small kitten. It was still so odd to him that he’d been able to bond with the little creature like that. And even more so joyed that a sort of piece of Apollo cared for him just as he had. “Co’ on.” He whispered, swirling his fingers to make the spheres spin faster as if it’d grab the Lion’s attention any better.
I love you more than you will ever know. Be well.
