Dear diary,

I swear all Warders are the exact same person copied across generations. And they are spent SPECIFICALLY to annoy me about my choices like a grim specter of my father. The Green Word forbid a Viera man choose to do anything other than watch over some trees. It might actually forbid that now that I think about it, but honestly who cares! There are more than enough Warders at this point. Me doing something interesting with my life is a fair trade, especially considering how important I've turned out to be!

Well at least I got to prove to that traditional stick in the mud that I am more than capable of taking care of things. I know it's hard to believe just anyone could kill a primal, but he should already know that I'm hardly just anyone. Of course I took down Ifrit! It's just a shame that other people were swept up in it.

I swear the way Sindri looked me over again after I said it. He could have shouted his doubts at me and it would have been less obvious. Ugh! But I doubt there will be much more of that. I don't know if it was pity or a desperate attempt to make me feel more like a Warder to him, but he had taken up a hunt and invited me along. I went despite the list of things I'd rather be doing because quite frankly I wanted to beat him to the mark.

I didn't, because it turns out he's a bit of a rush in headlong type. There are so many of those despite how quickly they tend to turn up dead. You'd think they'd hear of others and learn, but no. Everyone thinks they're the special exception. Sindri is if only in his choice of company.

We found the beast and he went for it before I could so much as put an arrow to bowstring. And then it smashed him into the rocks like so much prey. So much for Warder hunting skills! Maybe he should have set a trap for it!!

Regardless, I did manage to get an arrow on the string and I figured if I wanted him to live to hear me brag about beating him, I had better make it count. So I gave it a little extra burn of aether and took my shot. As if I'd miss any target but this one was comically easy. It burned and died in moments!

Luckily for Sindri, I also made sure he still had some blood left in his body. He must have been dazed because I'm pretty sure I heard him say something about my divine nature. Certainly, I'm more than natural! I won't argue that! But divinity...hm. Maybe that would explain some things.

Divine or simply gods-blessed, he knows it now. And I do so like making men like him starstruck. ;)
