It’s really interesting how the Delphic Maxims have influenced so many value/ethic codes. Fuck, honestly reciting the Girl Scout law is a halfway decent summary of the maxims, if you think about it.

I mean...

GS Law:

I will do my best to be honest and fair, friendly and helpful, considerate and caring, courageous and strong, and responsible for what I say and do, and to respect myself and others, respect authority, use resources wisely, make the world a better place, and be a sister to every Girl Scout.

Kind of similar, right? Like, the gist is there. The maxims have had such a lasting impact, and there’s hardly any scholarship on it! :/

Methods of Epithet Memorization, Pt. 1

Passwords. Change your password to the epithet you’re trying to memorize. Typing it in (ideally multiple times a day) will push it into long term memory through sheer repetition!

Advanced method - utilize multiple epithet passwords chosen based on the thing being password protected. You’ll start to associate the epithet with it’s meaning a little easier that way, and working on multiple epithets at one time means you’ll have a way to test yourself on remembering which epithet is appropriate. Just... maybe work on one deity’s epithets at a time. 😂. Example: Apollo Paean based passwords for healthcare stuff.
