I cannot believe I got 50 likes overnight with this one. And a repost from Jello himself, no less. Anyhow I thought I'd post a close up for this occasion. Expect even more epithet art in the future.

I can never find anything about the epithets you use! Do you make them or do they come from somewhere in just not looking 😅?

The majority of the epithets I use (both for Temple Hyacinthus and Hyacinthus Jewelry) actually come from Theoi.com!

By and large I try to use epithets that are historically attested to have been used in reference to a God, like using Maimaktes in reference to Zeus.

But I do also sometimes swap epithets around to different deities if I feel it makes sense and is appropriate/respectful; like using Anassa Eneroi for Persephone when historical sources say it was used in reference to Hekatê.

Additionally… sometimes there is an aspect of a deity I want to put into words but cannot find a historically attested epithet for. So instead I try to find an Ancient Greek word that is closest to what I’m trying to get across; an good example of which is Apollo Helianthus (helianthus is just the Ancient Greek word for sunflower 🌻).

What's your go to for self defense?

I'm a mundie so I usually go with a nice buckler. Easy to carry, mild maintence, makes for a good sled, and sometimes it makes for a good plate.

Trouble is the inscribed usually morph it one way or another. Makes me wish there was some kinda anti-magic ore, like "illiterinite" or something like that.

My “Go to” for self defense? HA! The best way to win a fight.. is to not fight at all. You run. Especially as a mundie. And also? Ya don’t PICK fights with people.

Buuuut… say I was forced into a fight by someone not-so pleasant. I can throw the occasional great right hook, and I could use my epithet to just.. turn some shit to gold and chuck it at them as hard as Í can. Preferably while running in the opposite direction.
