quick devotional doodles — slowly finding my way back and hoping to do a bigger piece again eventually
i wasn’t in the path of the total eclipse and the picture i did get did not get the entire vibe of the grey desaturated lighting but i still had a wonderful eclipse! i set out cards for Apollon and Artemis on my altar and because it finally feels like spring more than it has since the equinox, i lit some pink candles and rose incense. i also made some eclipse water to cleanse my altar with and do rituals with. i hope everyone had a good eclipse if you could see it!!

Apollo, please show me
How to become yours again
I miss how it feels to bask in your light
How your smiles sound on lyre
Can you show me?
Can you you teach me the steps to take?
I want to feel your love again
Your presence in my home
I want to feel your touch again
Ephemeral like foam
Shall I sing your praise again, my lord?
Will you strike words into my heart?
Do you want me to write a hymn again?
The long and storied art?
Perhaps if I write the right song
The perfect rhythm, a catchy tune
If I find the perfect melody,
Will I hear you singing soon?
If you want me to wait, I’m sure I can
Though the distance aches each day
Did you miss me like I miss you?
When I had gone astray?
Due to circumstances outside our control we left our practice abruptly a few years ago. Coming back now, I feel as if reconnecting is difficult. Writing poetry is much harder. This poem, however, flowed rather easy.

after years of being indecisive, i finally bought statues of aphrodite and apollon and i think they both look really nice :)
It’s really interesting how the Delphic Maxims have influenced so many value/ethic codes. Fuck, honestly reciting the Girl Scout law is a halfway decent summary of the maxims, if you think about it.
I mean...
GS Law:
I will do my best to be honest and fair, friendly and helpful, considerate and caring, courageous and strong, and responsible for what I say and do, and to respect myself and others, respect authority, use resources wisely, make the world a better place, and be a sister to every Girl Scout.
Kind of similar, right? Like, the gist is there. The maxims have had such a lasting impact, and there’s hardly any scholarship on it! :/
drop songs you think might fit this playlist I wanna expand it
here's the link if you wanna listen first
