The final Extra episode of Double Decker (and thus the final episode of the show) came out and while everyone is (rightfully) talking about Milla/Valery & Derek, I couldn’t help and notice Doctor Apple Bieber taking advantage of this trip to try and get closer to Doug.
Let’s start with the beginning of the episode and Doctor Apple talking with Doug
Apple always wants to be called Doctor and Doug is the only person who calls him that all the time. Look at how he blushes as he talks to Doug.
Later on, Apple suggests changing the prize of the ping-pong tournament to being able to switch rooms because he’s rooming with Travis. Then, he says this:
Also, you can see that Apple and Doug are the only people wearing the dark blue clothing. Everyone else only wears the light blue.
At dinner, Apple accommodates Doug with some more sake (which comes after Doug tells Kirill that despite the way he looks, he’s pretty drunk)
Sometime later comes this bath scene which doesn’t really need any sort of analysis
When they’re in the bath later on, they’re together again and Apple expresses his disdain for Travis
Finally, during the end credits, Apple gets another chance to spend time with Doug
This whole thing is interesting to me for multiple reasons. For one thing, Kirill has no problem with any of this happening. It makes sense because Doug and Kirill are always together as partners and this Extra takes place after Episode 13. After what they’ve been through, Kirill doesn’t have to try so hard to connect with Doug.
The other thing that is interesting is how cool and chill Doug is throughout. He seems to enjoy Apple’s company and doesn’t even blink an eye at Apple touching his muscles. We know that Doug can be a bit oblivious to things but there is also a significant age difference between Doug and Apple. He might look at this the same way an older brother might when one of his little sister’s friends has a crush on him.
This whole little background thing is cute and yet another reason I will miss this show.
