I’m really not sure what’s up, unless having a metal tin is better than having a cardboard box...?

Some of the toughest apple trees known to man. These survived their first year in which the container did not have drainage, so a lot of their brothers and sisters rotted away. Their second year was mainly very dry, and I suspect the ones which still have some dried leaves hanging may not live next year, but that big one on the right can handle everything. 6 of +/- 20 left after the first year, i think maybe 3 or 4 after the second. Evolution happening right on my balcony.

These could be very useful for growing in very wet soil, or dry soil. Or both.
