This secretly healthy apple banana bread is packed with fiber and natural sweetness from bananas and apples. It's perfect for breakfast or snack time and will satisfy your cravings without the guilt.
Ingredients: 1 1/2 cups whole wheat flour. 1/2 cup rolled oats. 1 tsp baking powder. 1/2 tsp baking soda. 1/2 tsp cinnamon. 1/4 tsp salt. 2 ripe bananas, mashed. 1/4 cup maple syrup. 1/4 cup unsweetened applesauce. 1/4 cup almond milk. 1 tsp vanilla extract. 1 cup grated apple. 1/2 cup chopped walnuts optional.
Instructions: Preheat oven to 350F 175C. Grease a loaf pan. In a large bowl, combine flour, oats, baking powder, baking soda, cinnamon, and salt. In another bowl, mix mashed bananas, maple syrup, applesauce, almond milk, and vanilla extract. Pour wet ingredients into dry ingredients and stir until just combined. Fold in grated apple and chopped walnuts, if using. Pour batter into the prepared loaf pan and smooth the top. Bake for 45-50 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean. Allow the bread to cool in the pan for 10 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely before slicing.
