This Apple Sheera Parfait is a delicious treat for Diwali or any other time. It combines the traditional Indian sweet "Sheera" with a modern twist. The fragrant mix of semolina, ghee, and grated apple is topped with vanilla yogurt and crunchy granola, making a perfect balance of tastes and textures.
Ingredients: 1 cup sooji semolina. 1/2 cup ghee clarified butter. 1 cup grated apple. 1/2 cup sugar. 1/4 cup chopped nuts almonds, cashews. 1/2 teaspoon cardamom powder. 2 cups milk. 1 cup vanilla yogurt. Granola for layering. Fresh apple slices for garnish.
Instructions: Heat ghee in a pan and roast sooji until golden brown. Add grated apple and continue to saut until it softens. Pour in milk gradually, stirring continuously to avoid lumps. Add sugar, chopped nuts, and cardamom powder. Cook until the mixture thickens. Remove from heat and let it cool. In serving glasses, layer the apple sheera with vanilla yogurt and granola. Repeat the layers and finish with a dollop of yogurt on top. Garnish with fresh apple slices and a sprinkle of chopped nuts. Refrigerate for an hour before serving. Serve chilled and enjoy the delightful Apple Sheera Parfait!
