Fuck it, time to live my truth: what if everyone who knows about Hazbin's main plot against their will fucked the one to blame? What if the most unprivileged Sinners (Angel might have neglected to tell Cherri Husk was an Overlord and still possesed magic because... "But Daddy I love him :((") formed a union that became an poly that somehow ended up including the devil? what if Cherri and Pentious still had Shit to work through (tm) due to how abruptly their connection ended and restarted before being thrown onto these shenanigans by the recently freed, honeymoon-phased Huskerdust. No more overlords, no more angels, just a bunch of losers together.... and then Lucifer tries to bond with the sinners to get on Charlies's good graces and ended like that.

(Also yes, obviously, there is no sexual nor relationship between Cherri and Angel)

A/N: It's my birthday! To celebrate, I've decided it's Lucifer's birthday, too! I don't actually think Heavenborn angels have birthdays, so this will be his first! Everyone say happy birthday, Lucifer! Title is from Happy Birthday by Sufjan Stevens!

There are a lot of things Lucifer never really came to understand about humans. In fact, most of how they work is still a mystery to him, thousands of years down the line. They did strange things, believed even stranger things, and had an odd habit of turning everything they could into some kind of celebration. Possibly the only one of those he ever really understood the appeal of is birthday parties.

When Charlie was born, it was an absolute miracle for him and Lilith. They celebrated every birthday of hers with the same gusto most humans reserved for only their most venerated holidays. Nothing had ever felt more worth celebrating than her.

Since coming to stay at the hotel, Lucifer has found himself sitting in on a number of those odd human celebrations he could never really get behind, though it has felt nice to be included. He's decided out of all of it, though, birthdays are still the only parties that are worthwhile. Especially this one, because Angel sure knows how to plan an interesting party for himself.

“I love these parties,” Lucifer comments as he takes a seat next to Angel at the table. Angel picked some kind of strawberry cake for his party, and this might be Lucifer's new favorite (as if he doesn't think that every time he tries a new cake).l

“Crazy seein’ as ya been here at least a year now and we ain't had your birthday party yet,” Angel jokes.

“Oh yeah, Dad never did anything for his birthday when I was growing up,” Charlie says, digging in to her slice of cake. “I always figured he just didn’t like being old.”
