An Apple Stand
It goes without saying that the Internet have had it share bit of fun the last week since WWDC. The $1000 stand. -"Wow, Apple, how on earth will I able to spend that on a monitor stand?", says the Apple fanboi with over $25k of dead Apple devices in his trail.
What we can see here is the usual suspects. Do they have a studio that requires the horsepower of a workstation and a multi-display setup to visualize their work? Don't think so.
The point I've been trying to make in several of these cases is that WHO THE FUCK needs a stand for a monitor in 2019 if you have a studio or respectable workstation setup? No one! Apple know who they're selling to. The stand is an outmost optional accessory and Apple knows it. I've ripped off the stands of the last 5-6 monitors I've acquired over the last few years. They all ended up in the Santa Cruz landfill.
I'm not a pro designer, but if you're into workspace ergonomics and multi-display setups, monitor stands are again, optional. Other manufacturers will of course understand this once Apple has proven the fact and then everybody will nod in agreement and it will be the new norm for shipping monitors.
Luckily, I'm not alone with this assessment.
I would still need the $199 VESA adapter if I'd buy the XDR display, which I'm no position to do, as I'm not that of a "profressional". I might switch to 4K next year though. 😂
Apple scoate la bataie noul suport de monitor. Un chilipir. Doar 999$ . Ce mai spun fanii apple? Sunteti pregătiți să mai vindeți un rinichi ? :))) #apple #monitor #pc #applestand #applestandpc #suportmonitor #iphone #pcsetups #newapple https://www.instagram.com/p/BygjNOdJJES/?igshid=fljtz9il8n70

scruffy-spiderwolf answered: I like GIMP too…it can get stuck, but in my experience that was from working with large files, screenshots might be ok
applestand answered: GIMP is pretty good
Thanks, I will try that!
My problem with Paint.NET is that it takes about 2-5 minutes to open, depending on how many programs I have running. (I usually have at least one Chrome tab open + my work software and Word)
Taking screenshots is fast, but editing them is a pain, because I have to wait for the program to load, and it tends to jam at least twice before it gets to the actual photo editing part.
That ADHD feel when everyone has a solution for your problem that isn't your medication. "Just meditate and watch less tv" smh
