My #apqresolution project for May is my #splendidsampler. I have around 50 blocks done, so quite a bit of work ahead of me... #thesplendidsampler #apqresolution2017

So I'm still slugging along on the #marinerscompass quilt. Thought I'd post this progress update for April (#11). #apqresolution #apqresolution2017
Pumpkin quilt is finished. Cross that one off the Q2list and #apqresolution April finish
Forest Edge quilt, completed 03 April 2016
April's challenge for UnFinished Objects is: Forest Edge. AKA Edge of the Forest, Edge of the River... never quite settled on a name for this. It was originally to be more of a night sky/aurora theme and instead became this. The quilt top was finished last year, and I had king size batting, but because of the size I didn't have backing fabric yet. Hancock Fabric is holding a GOOB (going out of business) sale so I picked up a huge single piece of 108" wide tonal dark brown fabric for the back. How big is it? It's nearly 8 feet square. (2.3m) I still had fabric handy when I realized I was already at "size enormous". This is king size, no two ways about it. The third one from the left is some lovely batik "kelp" style fabric that I've had for a while. I also really like the second fabric, with the red/gold/green. Not terribly visible, but the third one from the right (to the right of the dotted fabric) has lots of little gold sparkles like sunlight on the water. This is the 7th UFO for 2016 I've done - I'm 3 months ahead! Go me!
