saving life on earth from extinction due to an an event that would make the planet uninhabitable
saving the literal planet from being destroyed due to an outside threat or some kind of extreme natural disaster
preventing the oppression/enslavement of earth’s population
ending the opppression/enslavement of earth’s population
saving human civilisation as it is known
preventing harm coming to the hero’s world (their loved ones)
