Since Donnie is a narcissist, he had a hard time expressing his feelings to April at first. He was used to listing his positive qualities to April, but complimenting her... Well, don't worry, he quickly adapted🫡✨

P.S. This is Mikey calling to ask April where Donnie is, because their pizza oven is BURNING TOGETHER WITH THE LAIR (INCLUDING SPLINTER'S FAVORITE CHAIR), and Donnie's phone, unlike April's, was blocked from any outside calls.
