This apron that I made about 6 years ago is a simple pleasure. I appreciate it every time I put it on. Lots of pockets, a dark color for hiding dark stains, and a comfy fit. Most aprons drive me crazy with the neck strap that just cranks on my neck. For this I copied a design I saw that has the straps sewn together near the top, so they just sit in between your shoulders, then the straps go through loops on the side of the apron, which pulls the tension off your neck. It’s reversible as well, but with no pockets on one side. This one is wearing out so the next prototype (everything is a prototype) will have pockets on both sides. Super geek analogy: When I saw Return of the Jedi in the third grade I had an aha moment when I saw that Luke had made his own lightsaber. I loved that. And now, when I make my own gear it’s such a rewarding feeling. Throw in up-cycled materials and 💥 it feels even better. I think my next apron will be from old clothes, or at least thrift fabric.
