dream!stingray / aquair

this is the concept art ive drawn of stingray for starjail ! (her name being aquair) ,,, who i somehow have forgotten the flaps to 💔 but its okay because she's my wife 🩵

story under the cut !

outside of starjail, there are various types of creatures which swim around space, one of those creatures being stingrays. aquair is a nomad who loves to destroy anything she sees, so shes technically a nightmare creature of sorts (nightmare creatures are pests who have an unsatiable appetite for destruction and power over dreams) . so when she found starjail, of course she she saw it as nothing but just junk in space to tear apart, but when she couldnt get through the barrier that protects starjail, she instead burrowed her way through the clouds underneath (despite them being super humid and thick. it wasnt rlly a challenge for her because she's burst through various kinds of clouds before so this was no match for her).

since then she's got herself stuck in starjail as a prisoner, ontop of that she's also caught the dream warden's interest due to the various scars on her body (just the way she swims in general puts him into a trance)

this interest would become overboard to the point that she torn herself in half (as shown here) to scare him off. since then, the warden only stalked her silently.. there will be a point where he warms up to her again !!! i can assure you !!!

Designed by National Cheng Kung University’s design students Wei-Yee Ong, Hsin-Ju Lin, Shih-Min Chang, and Marco Villela, Aquair is conceived for remote mountainous areas in tropical latitudes, it can be easily assembled with the addition of locally sourced materials.

Aquair collects water through a mesh waterproof fabric that is stretched across a bamboo structure to maximize airflow. The key to Aquair’s design is its fan and small centrifuge that use gravity to draw collected water vapor down a tube and into a bucket. The collapsible structure can be assembled by hand, while locally sourced rocks and bamboo can be used for the weight and tensile structure, respectively.

The team created the workable prototype in response to Honduras’ water crisis.

In this week’s Blog I would like to take you on a visual journey to the wonderful world of Japanese advertising posters between 1965 and 1980 with 20 entries where elegance, fashion, beauty, cosmetics, cars, kitsch, weirdness are all mixed summing up the incredible creativity of that medium in Japan with 20 posters taken from the Gallery’s collection.

Let’s start with one of the most beautiful, created for the campaign of the cosmetics brand, Aquair and their makeup line featuring a sublime Japanese woman with one of the most elegant necklines ever.
