Aquolina Pink Sugar Sensual
Shakes in anxiety
I just made a purchase that I've wanted to make for 1 year but I've kept putting it off.
Aquoalina's "Blue sugar" was a male fragrance that debuted in 2006. It was created by Givaudan and Shyamala Maisondieu, the genius behind the infamous "Pink Sugar" for women.
I vaguely remember smelling Blue sugar back in the early 2000s, especially during my Mallrat Hottopic Days. This fragrance is really unique, a lot like A*Men by Mugler. Warm, Spicy, Sugary, THICC. It leads with a Licorice note (Star Anis, possibly Toscanol or Canthoxal), with Coriander.
The Cotton Candy note, which remains a very selcouth note for men's fragrances (likely Ethyl Maltol/Furaneol) is the star of the show. Blooming with Cedar, and Tonka. It gets about 4-6 hours on you; and honestly? Criminally underrated for the time. I don't recall the musk that would have been in this, though given the era it was era likely Habanolide and possibly Ambroxan?)
This fragrance was discontinued and has not been available since roughly 2017 and there are virtually no bottles available anywhere in the world outside of a few people selling theirs. AFAIK there is a gift-set on Etsy, and maybe 1 used bottle going for $500.
This is a 300ML Refill for testers. I now own the FINAL BOTTLE OF IT. IT IS FUCKING MINE BITCH! OH MY GOD YES. I'm sad to not have the bottle, but fuck it. I can bottle my own. BUT THE IMPORTANT THING--is I can study this. Pick it apart and really bite into this recipe! Possibly recreate it, though without copying it. I hate copycat recipes since I think you should take inspiration, but don't just steal the DNA (looking at you Du Mont Nitro Intense 👁️) ANYWAYS. MERRY CHRISTMAS TO ME!
Some of my favorite affordable perfumes:
🩷 Pink Sugar ~ $19: A classic. Many love it, many hate it. I am a lover of sweet perfumes and this is always a winner for me. I always feel good when I wear it and people around me seem to enjoy it, too. It layers well with a lot of other perfumes - great for adding a cotton candy-esque sweetness. I always think of this perfume when the fair rolls around in September.
💛 Viva la Juicy Gold Couture ~ $40: This one has a reputation for beguiling men. Jeremy Fragrance claims it is the sexiest perfume for women - take from that what you will lol. 🤪😆 Sweet, vanillic, caramelized flowers with a touch of fruitiness from the berries. I can attest that my husband does enjoy this.
❤️ Paris Hilton Can Can ~ $25: This one has a bright juiciness to it and I find it surprisingly addicting. I believe the fruitiness in this is emphasized in comparison to the other perfumes here because it doesn't have a creamy aspect from notes like vanilla or caramel. I tend to gravitate toward this one especially in warmer weather. This is a fruity sugared amber.
🧡 Jessica Simpson Fancy ~ $27: This was one of my very first perfumes. I finished my bottle of it awhile back so I don't have it right in front of me to smell, but this perfume envelops you with a sweet golden warmth. It has a certain elegance to it that does indeed make you feel a bit ✨️ fancy. ✨️ I plan on repurchasing it eventually.
I pulled these prices from Jomashop, an online perfume discount store.
I just scent-mixed myrrh oil (which smells like an ashtray but more pleasant) with pink sugar by aquolina. I'm gonna call the result either burnt sugar or candy cigarettes and it's lovely. so if you happen to have the ingredients on hand, i recommend the combination 🚬🪵🔥🍭🧁🍬
