Looks like a male orbweaver but I'm not positive on species. Maybe an arabesque orbweaver, Neoscona arabesca.

Love that your brother admires them too! Doesn't look like a shamrock orbweaver, though. they have spots on their abdomen. This one looks like an arabesque orbweaver :)
