Joints of Fate: A Planetary Magical Working In The Arbatel

Hi, Long time no see :D finally finished writing this booklet. My magical ritual booklet / Journal of workings with Arbatel all in one document, I think some of the writings are a bit disjointed and unorganized. I hope that it make sense and most importantly to be useful for YOU if you do decide to use it :)

The sigil is from a 1686 edition of the Arbatel and Andreas Luppius books. The five (note the central one) are Ioviel, Gabriel, Oriel, Pomiel, and Saturiel. The first and last could be based on the Roman god-names, suffixed with the angelic "-iel"; Agrippa has Saturniel and Ioviel as angels of the corresponding planets, along with similar names for the others and for the signs of the Zodiac &c. Pomiel is said by Trithemius to be the third angel of Saturn.

Hagith "House Sweetner" (With Special Guest Star @ome-magical-ramblings!)

The above picture is from the Hagith work I did, as instructed by the spirit, transmitted through my friend OmE (@ome-magical-ramblings)!

The idea behind it is to "sweeten" the home, or location that you do it. I'll link the actual working below if you wanna try it yourself!

But I can say for sure that this work was a success, and had great results!

Actually doing the work was really simple and relaxing. I fell asleep easily each night I did it, and woke up well rested. During this time frame, I also noticed that while I was in my home I was pretty joyful, and my depression and other issue seemed to be far off and at rest. When leaving though, I felt a want to go home frequently as the outside world was not so pleasant. Probably the only actual downside to the spell. But otherwise, I always felt a good presence in my room, and I became more light, more calm, and was able to think more clearly.

The ARBATEL can easily be translated into Enochian. Therefore, numerical in nature it then can be applied to tables.

Arbatel de magia veterum ( Arbatel: Of the Magic of the Ancients ) is a Renaissance-period grimoire – a textbook of magic – and one of the most influential works of its kind. Unlike some other occult manuscripts that contain dark magic and malicious spells, the Arbatel contains spiritual advice and guidance on how to live an honest and honorable life.

The Arbatel is claimed to have been written in 1575 AD. This date is supported through textual references dating from 1536 through 1583.

Sigils for working with each one of the 7 classical planets, drawn from 4 sources: the 11th century Ghāyat al-Ḥakīm (also known as the Picatrix); the 16th century Arbatel: De Magia Veterum (Arbatel: Concerning the Magic of the Ancients), which works with Olympian spirits governing each planet; Agrippa's De Occulta Philosophia (to keep it from dominating this post, I didn't include the sigils for the planet's demons and intelligences); and, a more recent example, the so-called pre-sigilla used by the Aurum Solis Order, which is fun to mess around as you can combine them with other sigillization methods to create unique sigils for your intentions, draw them in the air and so on.

Circles are necessary for the operation of Arbatel? The grimoire don't talk about circles. Still, heard of some people that affirm that they are a vital component in this grimoire as well.

As a general rule, circles are for the protection of the magician or the confinement of the spirit. In the Arbatel, you’re dealing with Olympic Spirits generally regarded as being helpful and friendly (or, at least, indifferent leaning towards giving the magician the benefit of the doubt). Becuase of this, circles are not needed. 

You’re free to use them if you want to, but you are by no means required to. The only things vital to operations within a tradition are those things outlined in the operations within that tradition. In this case, as you’ve mentioned, the text does not call for the use of a circle.

Other than Aphorism 27, of course … but that’s not a circle in the sense of the anon’s question; Aphorism 27 gives instructions on the construction of The Seal of Secrets of the World.
