something something monty's "or my name's not ewen montagu" in bevan's update echoing "or my name isn't bernard spilsbury" when neither of them was actually trustworthy
glad to see all the lesbians are normal about maureen
incredible tiny all-plotpoints-coming-together moment when luke's character limbos with aj's character (forgive me i cant be bothered with their names rn) and sam's character goes "you're pair-limboing with someone else??" and luke's character goes "i'm sorry- [to aj] you just look so much like your father"
because!!!! she and his father were lovers!!!! it all makes SENSE!!!!!!!
i just love maureen's and pete's friendship so much. "tired of nasty men assaulting her" + "could not care less if she is fully naked or fully clothed". the way she immediately becomes comfortable around him to the point of going around the room making him tea without feeling the need to put anything on. it's like the opposite of old films where the female character gets out of the shower wrapped in a towel to open the door. because NEITHER OF THEM CARES. there's literally no tension whatsoever. truly the ace4ace platonic power couple i love them
there's something to be said about john "we do our duties, nothing more" bevan vs hester "did more than her part" leggatt. and ewen "i'll definitely get a knighthood" montagu vs jean "i imagine the medals they'd give me" leslie.
the beginning of just for tonight always makes me alugh because it's like "the world is fucked up and depressing" and i'm like yeah ok relateable statement what's your advice mr ewen montagu? and then the advice is "drink incredible amounts of alcohol"
