She feels so strange here without Brianna. It had been the two of them, those years ago, who walked away from the stones, exhausted in every sense of the word after they had sent their mother back in time. She had been the only reason Faith had not collapsed and given up. It’s wrong, almost, to be here now without her. But she is desperate. And she knows nowhere else where a god may hear her plea.
Kneeling before the centre-most stone, Faith’s prayer leaves her lips in hushed Gaelic, and up she stares, as if some kindly being might descend from the heavens. Google wasn’t exactly clear on the details, so she isn’t sure of what to expect, but she has to hope that something will show itself. And hope she does, with the last few shreds that remain within her.
What a waste it seems to be. Faith is about to give up after god knows how long of what feels like begging to --- well, begging a solid chunk of stone. And that’s when she hears it. Like a faint rustle, just behind her, that makes her heart leap in her chest as she turns on her knees and she sees... what she can only describe as a businesswoman trying her best to dress for casual Friday. Not exactly what she envisioned when she read god-summoning spell. The goddess of bankers isn’t exactly going to be useful for her. But then again, times like these, maybe she should be less picky and more grateful.
