Stiles almost didn't go to the party; past experience with them left him with a distaste, but life was about taking chances. He mingled wth a few people, drank, and danced terribly, overall having a good time. ❝ Can you wha-❞ Before he has a chance to finish that sentence, lips pressed into his own. The kiss caught him off guard at first, but his hands soon cupped Quentin's cheeks, kissing him back with a bit more heat behind it.
THE HEAT of the kiss comes swifter than quentin anticipated , but it reflects back on himself . his brows furrow , hands coming up to rest on the other man's sides ( stiles ? stiles . quentin's pretty sure he said stiles ) .
the kiss lasts a lot longer than is polite for being a RANDOM AT A PARTY . it isn't until he hears a loud cough followed by a spattering of laughter that q comes back into himself enough to pull back , eyes a little wide , lips a little slick , and slightly out of breath . ❝ shit , uh - sorry ? ❞

Q ' S LIFE has been pretty complicated since coming back from the dead . well - actually that's not exactly true . the life part of life has been pretty uncomplicated and straightforward . it's the EMOTIONAL part of being alive again that's been complicated . which means sex hasn't featured as heavily in quentin's life as it did previously . except for , well . . . NOW .
he's lying on his back , head turned to the side to watch as jess adjusts to look at him . he nods in consideration , trying to figure out where he sits on the spectrum she's just offered . ❝ i don't think it means nothing , ❞ he starts , eyes off in the middle distance as he tries to sort through his feelings . ❝ i don't know . . . what it does mean yet , though . ❞ he sounds almost apologetic when he says it , finally turning his eyes to look back at her .

THE PARTY was over - crowded , too many bodies pressed too close together . they hadn't exactly talked much , the two of them . a few sentences shared here and there , but mostly they swayed with the crowd to the music . the press of bodies pushes them closer together and quentin takes in a breath .
❝ can i - ❞ he starts but doesn't finish , and instead tilts his head in and up , pressing his lips to the other's .
