Winter Solstice in Roberts Creek
Greetings to you all on a dark winter’s evening from a small cabin in Roberts Creek.
As the pandemic continues to worsen all around us I decided to take a few days out of the city back up to the Sunshine Coast for fresh sea air, clear skies and a chance to celebrate the Winter Solstice with a blazing log fire on the beach.
The weather has not been great but the clouds cleared enough to provide me with a wonderful crescent moon on Thursday evening.
It’s been great having a place to myself and cooking up lovely brunches with the free range eggs provided by the owners of the BnB
Today we went for a socially distanced hike in Francis Point Provincial Park, finding a wonderful grove of Arbutus trees, dancing on the edge of the cliffs!
It’s amazing how the branches of some of the trees look like human limbs, comparable to well muscled arms or legs.
