“ You know, I miss when you had more of a sense of humor.” Cai was surprised at how she snapped at him. “ It was a joke. “ Seemed that his best attempts at humor as of late seemed to fall a little short , but he wasn’t in the best of moods. He couldn’t begin to explain why that was, let alone what was taking over him.

Gold laughed at that…an almost prideful sort of smirk present, taking the other man’s words to be something of a compliment, though knowing very well that it was a poor thing indeed to find complimentary, being likened to the devil of all things. But was the devil not the most cunning of all? And for a man with darkness in his heart and a thirst for magic and power, being compared to that suited him just fine.
❛ I’m sure many would claim that’s exactly what it is. But I am at least a man of my word——-I never break a deal. ❜ Were his deals ever quite what people were expecting or intending? Almost never, but that was hardly his fault they made deals they didn’t fully understand. Desperation makes people forget their senses, ignore the glaring signs in front of them…he would know better than any.
❛ Is that what you’re here for? A deal with the devil? ❜
“ So an honest devil.” Caiden mused. He’s had his dealings with a few who claimed such honesty and some stabbed him in the back. (Thankfully it wasn’t literal ). Though what could a bartender possibly want from Mister Gold, the pawn broker. Maybe just a glimpse into what he was actually dealing with. Regina he knew, she wasn’t at all hard to figure out. Maybe there were bits and pieces that Caiden couldn’t make out but she was obvious. Gold, however, was a mystery and his relationship with Regina was something that Caiden couldn’t quite read and he had this habit of wanting to know. It made dealing with things a little easier in his sketchy line of work. “ It’s something tempting to consider, but I don’t even know if you could help me.” Eyes narrowed at the man as though he were still flipping through the pages. “ But it’s nice to entertain.”

“ Pops said I should talk to you. Something about ‘aggression’ and ‘training’..?“ This could end one of two ways.

What had it been. Days? Months? Enough to lose count from the last time he saw the beloved Savior of Strorybrooke. Or maybe it just felt that way as time really seems to have no meaning in this blasted town. A bottle of his best and a box of bear - claws because that just seemed highly appropriate on the grounds of their ... sort of relationship? It was something, that much the bartender was tired of hiding. If he said he didn’t miss her he’d be a liar, and while he was known for it, he was nearly tired of it. “ I come with offerings.”
