However, the Courier had done a lot for him. "Carla." It was a simple answer, one that didn't require much explanation. However, he felt he owed the other a bit more. he stops walking for a moment, and twists to look at dane. "have you heard of oysters?" no judgment in the question - not like he knows much about them beyond their taste.

quiet for a beat, and then: "also, what's a tuna? do you think it's a cousin of the oyster? can oysters have cousins?"

" guardians hardly ever have the option of deciding to live a life we want. " he struggles now with his words. even if it wasn't his choice he would not change any of his decisions. he may not have been satisfied but it was right. " it is... i suppose if you do not feel content then it is not the life you want. and if you are then it is. i... spent much of my life dissatisfied. pursuing what i felt necessary for our survival. i still do but... saint and others in my life have shown me a different life. one i did not know was possible for me. i do not want any other life because i do not know any other. "

[ 𝕎 ] —- - They were on the move again. After a long night spent in a dingy shack, taking cover from a radstorm, it was time for them to leave. In the midst of packing up, it seemed he’d missed something. Looking up at Nora, he saw her holding up a bracelet. A simple black cord with a small, silver charm. A hamsa. It was an old gift from his mother, given to him so long ago that he can’t really remember what the occasion was.

He ends up taking it in hand, looking it over with a warmth not typically seen in his expression. He rubs the face of the charm with his thumb, nodding at her.

"Tch," she huffled. "This is what I get for working with amateurs." a shake of the head accompanied the words directed more to herself than to her recent companion. Leblanc only approached the woman because she thought they looked competent. she was usually a pretty good judge of character, but maybe in this instance, her instincts failed her. where were her men when she needed them? they would know what to do.

in any case, it seemed like she was on her own for this one. she would have to use her natural charm and persuasion to get what she wanted. "Whatever works for you, love. If you're not going to help solve this with me," though they both knew Leblanc had wanted the other woman to solve this problem for her. the glare she held was as sharp as the sword she wielded. "Can you stand there and look menacing at least? My boys have both run off and your default glare can be just the thing I need to make my point." a gloved hand went to rest on her hip as her head cocked to the side while she spoke. if the woman could provide some unintentional back up for this, her plan might just work.
