Welcome To Elleon
Hello there! I am Ravanna and I will be your guide through this world I have created. Elleon is a massive worldbuilding project i've been creating for several years. Its a massive passion project thats still on going. This post will hopefully give you a small look into this world and the project. I'll be updating this post to link to more details about the subjects as time goes on. I really hope you enjoy and asks are open for any questions or comments!
Elleon is a world defined by two basic principles. Everything evolved to control the elements, and everything evolved to fight back. Elleon's dominant species is know as the The Eltics, named after the continent Eltis. The Eltics are an analogous evolutionary species to humanity. Being tall bipedal apes with large brains structures, two arms and two legs, opposable thumbs, forward facing eyes, and omnivorous teeth and jaws. While similar on the surface, there are clear differences; such as the Eltics more varried pigments in eye and hair color, taller and more muscular frames, more teeth, and of course the Eltics ability to control the elements. In the far future when humanity had first made contact with the Eltics, a human officer would describe them as "Your uncanny cousin from hell."
Elleon itself sits in the habitable zone of a binary star system, and has 3 moons and 1 satellite moon. All three moons are locked in Elleon's orbit so that you can only them if you are standing on Eltis, you could only see 1 moon, but if you stood on the other side of the planet, you'd see the other two. Its landmass is mostly condensed into the super-continent Eltis, holding 68% of the planets land. The remaining 32% is split between the continents Noctrum and Altis on the other side of the world.
Eltis is where the majority of the Eltic population lives. Split in half by the Gateway Mountains to the west you find the lush green grasslands and plains with large flowing rivers and harsh winds blowing down from the north known as the Arcane Plains. To the north you find a frozen extension of those same plains extending into the arctic circle. In this Permafrost you find the Zarren mountains and glaciers to the east and the frozen lakes and rivers to the west. Far to the south of the fields the rivers give rise to massive forests and jungles and savannas. To the east of the Gateway Mountains lies the harsh and aird Ember Desert. Most would deem it inhospitable, but those who call it home are the most resilient of animals. Following the Ezterath mountains north you find the gorges, plateaus, and valleys of the Dezteric Cliffs. And surrounding this land is an ocean full of life and wonder.
The Eltics would evolve as the sole survivors of their genus out of the jungles to the south west of Eltis. They had a natural ability to control the plants and animals around them, but as they migrated around the globe, those powers would change. But those that stayed in the jungles would become the Rawoon tribes. Masters of nature, the Rawoon believe all life can be traced back two three Primordial Deities, one of animal life, one of Plant life, and one of Rot. They would split into three tribes, each focused on serving one of the three primordials. The Haybat would found the city Meiir and dedicate themselves to the primordial of animals. The Hayish tribe would settle farther west and establish the city Mayrol and worship the Primordial of Plant life. The two tribes existed in conflict for a long time, but would unite against the third tribe. The canablistic Taead serving the primirdial of Rot out of their city Shaar. Pictured below are Rawoon and Taead soldiers from the time of the War of Embers.
As the early Eltics migrated out of the jungles, a group would settle along the rivers of the Arcane Plains. The constant winds in this area would inspire great stories of how the winds came from the wings of a bird who's glowing eyes provided the daylight. This stories would turn to religion as they lost their nature powers and gained the ability to manipulate the winds. Kingdoms would pop up all over the grasslands, and be in constant war with each other until the Arcane Kingdom weaponized new strategies and technology and was able to conquer the entire region. Becoming the Arcane Empire, the eternal kingdom. The Arcane Empire would become famous for their philosophy, technology, art, culture, and ruthless brutality. As the Empire explored the continent they would conquer the Rawoon tribes to their south, but their conquest to the north would introduce them to the most ferocious warriors on Elleon. The Raytak Enclaves. In the far north the Raytak honed their abilities over ice, snow, and cold to perfection to serve their dragon god; The Neyruhan. In Raytak culture, the Neyruhan was a dragon that was cast deep below the ice of the Permafrost and its icy firey breath can still be seen in the night sky in the form of auroras. Those who please the Neyruhan shall be granted power untold. The only way to please the ice dragon? War. The Raytak divided themselves into three enclaves, each with their own views on war. The Odvyks of the Enclave of Order focused on the process of war, the strategy and logistics. They live along the coasts of the Permafrost, using the thawing amd freezing lakes and rivers as natural defenses. The Zarrens of the Enclave of Shadows see war as a means to an end. The victory was more important than the act of war itself. Willing to use any and all tactics to win, they are famous for their spy networks and guerilla tactics. They live in the Zarren mountain range, named after them, digging massive caverns in the rock and glaciers to conceal entire cities. The final Enclave was the most feared across all of Eltis, the Kroens or the Enclave of Blood. The Kroens sought to please the Neyruhan through the carnage of war. They settled along the Ozar Blüd or Red Lake in Neyruhar. Pictured here is a soldier from the Enclave of Blood during the War of Embers.
The Arcean expansion did not end in the Permafrost. After the enclaves had been subjugated, the Empire turned its attention out to the seas. Long ago small tribes of Eltics lived along the coasts living off fishing and the sea. They crafted large vessels to spend weeks at sea gathering resources. The vessels expanded to include craftsmen, and soon they expanded to bring the families along. Soon they became entire floating villages that never needed to return to land. Those floating villages then blund together and became floating cities. These Floatillas are the home of the Uriko people. There are dozens of smaller Floatillas in the sea's of Elleon but the largest are the Sai and Norai. The Sai is belived to be the oldest still surviving Floatilla, dedicated to ancient temples of the Anami, the Uriko gods. The Norai is a mostly lawless vessel floating through the rivers of Eltis. During the Arcane Empire's attempted take over of the Sai, they created a new Floatilla called The Rapture to help aliviate the overpopulation problem on the Sai, and in doing so, create the Uriko colony they were after. Pictured here is an Uriko soldier during the War of Embers
The Arcane Empire would later find a pass through the mountains and into the east. Unable to explore to the south due to the impassable Ezterath Mountains and the Scorch, they would follow the moutains north until they came into contact with the Petra and Alkem races under the control of a rival empire. Records of this era are sparse due to an intentional destruction of records, but it is known that the Petra were liberated from slavery by the Arcane Empire, and placed in control of the Alkem, the people that helped enslave the Petra. The Petra rewrote their history and rebuilt their city Grimmig using their natural ability to manipulate the stone and earth around them. The Alkem's ability to control the atomic bonds in atoms and molecules, once celebrated, was now a brand of shame under the empire. Pictured here is a Petra civilian from the War of Embers.
The Arcane Empire's reign over Eltis was near absolute. Every other culture was either under their thumb or heavily relied on the Empire to survive. Those who had wronged them in the past were hunted down and exterminated. The ones who faced the worst of their wrath were the flame weilding Eterzic. Living through a hidden pass around The Scorch, the Eterzic live in the hidden city Infernza. After their empire collapsed fighting the Arcane Empire they retreated beyond the Scorch to their sacred homeland. The Empire would not rest until every Eterzic was slaughtered, starting a long and dark period known as The Extinguishing. For decades the Eterzic lived in fear, until a man known as The Ez-Täkan turned their fear into wrath and brought them together under a new banner. The Order of The Flame. In one night they captured the largest city in the desert, Cindergaurd, and started the War of Embers. What started as a war between the two strongest groups on the planet, quickly turned into a worldwide conflict. Pictured here are several Eterzic soldiers serving during the War of Embers
During the War of Embers the Order of the Flame would ally themselves with several groups also seeking revenge against the Empire. The rebel Uriko Floatilla Ryu and the Taead tribe were notable, but none were as historically significant as the Strata Clans. Native to the savannas east of the jungles the Strata have the ability to control and manipulate the electricity around them. From lightning to static shocks, they control all electrical currents like an extension of their bodies. The Northern Strata, known as the Arktra command a yellow lightning, while the southern Boltra tribe use a bright blue lightning. The Arktra tribe helped conquer and enslave the Boltra, dragging them into the War of Embers. During the 2nd Battle of Cindergaurd, the heir to the Boltra clan would defect to the Order and lead an attack to capture the Arktra Capital, freeing his clan and uniting them as one nation under The Order. Pictured here is Jesaksi Boltra shortly after the War of Embers.
Thanks for reading this super long intro post! I'll be updating it with links with more info on each of the races as time goes on. All designs used in this post were made by my wonderful sibling @booitsloki they deserve all the credit. I'll be posting more about Elleon soon hopefully! Maybe even some pages from the book I'm writing, who knows. Let me know what you all would like to see!
