Writing up the feature descriptions. Although each aspect of archaeology is rewarding in its own way, the write up of features is challenging on so many different levels that it has to be one of my favorite tasks. You have to be open to many interpretations, aware of biases, contamination, how the field strategy affects results, and endless other permutations. I love it!
