The Sleeping Lady. Temple Period, 4000 - 2500 BC.

This clay figure of a reclining lady was found in one of the pits of the Hypogeum in Hal Saflieni in Malta. It has traces of red ochre paint and is thought to represent a "mother goddess", even though she may equally be a representation of death or eternal sleep. Now on display at the National Museum of Valetta, Malta.

Minoan Palace of Knossos 🏰 Crete, Greece 🌍 🤠🏛🤠 The Palace dates back to the Broze Age (3300 - 1200) and was one of the major economic centre's of the Minoan civilisation. 🐳🐋🐬🐟🐠🐡🦈🐙🐚🐳🐋🐬🐟🐠🐡 This room, known as the Queens Room, can be found in the residential quarters of the East Wing and is one of my favorite rooms. This room is believed to be the private reception room from the Queen of Knossos. 👸🏽 Due to her husband's travels he decorated the room with the maritime life he encountered for them to enjoy together. Day 2: 91°F, went out to the furthest sites about an hour away to ground truth. The first video was taken walking through the wooded area of a mound site, and shortly after it was taken I unknowingly dropped my phone while being swarmed by ants. Currently writing formative assessments! I wish they were graded/incorporated into the final course mark. Formative assessments in my department are typically 2,500 word essays that are meant to 'prep' you for the summative essays at the end of the term. But they aren't marked? And dont count towards the course? And I'm putting so much effort into it? Britian is weird.
