The Forgotten Cities: Thomas Jacoby Images of Early Christian Architecture in Greater Syria features a group of 700 historic settlements in Syria dating from the first to seventh century CE. The core of the collection are thousands of images taken by scholar Thomas Jacoby in the mid-1970s which provide valuable insight into the development and practice of early Christianity. Due to the ongoing civil unrest in Syria, the current condition of many of these sites is unknown, making these photographs an important record. Explore the collections.

I continue to watch and share Andrew Cross’s Desert Drifter videos because I love seeing this part of the world, and listening to his quite informational dialogue/discussion is calming for me. Even though there will never be any new additions to his channel because of his vehicular manslaughter death at the hands of an irresponsible drunk driver careening into him while he was stopped at a red light. I also do it so the advertising revenue can go to his wife, at least until she decides what she wants to do with his s channel.I have been looking for explorers with a similar style with little luck so far.

Today I want to celebrate my birthday by sharing another post of one of my favourite elements of mother nature, one of the jungle secular trees. It stands solid and unflappable, thanks to his solid roots, well clasped to the soil and yet creating a beautiful pattern on the grounds making the scenery more beautiful and appealing. The branches and leaves are instead flexible free to swing at the rhythm of the winds and bend, in order not to break.
